The entry level bmws has all the attributes of a BMW, however if you are looking for something fast try the 330 and the ///M cars. That being said Hp and torque should not be the only consideration as many here have articulated the wonderful attributes of a BMW.

I have sat and driven the civic type r and also a s203 before getting my current ride. Make no mistakes about it, these are very fine cars and will give the M cars a run for their money on the track (stock standard), if modified the s203 will tapau the M cars at sepang.

However, when you take into account of other factors like desirability, usability and performance, bmws are still the leader in my biased opinion lol

was just wondering how would a 120i fare if it comes into the equation...
the other nite, was entering the newly constructed looong bridge that connects Summit to Motorola (Fed Hghwy) when a cibik cucuked my belakang. i signalled to left, and when we're side by side i floored it. cibik was close, but i was in front all the way, pulling away further and further till the bending left swerve at the end of the bridge. then he's out of sight.

not sure if it's a 1.8/2.0, but his headlight does look like a pair of 2.0's xenon. i had a ciplak ///M badge at my rear and wonders if that helped him back off?

But putting stock CTR in a "bad ride quality" catagory, is just a bad call.
You don't like it, doesn't mean is bad.

I don't have the privileage and luxury to own many cars, but I do know what is call REAL STIFF suspension.
Ask Pussy, or anyone in Melaka. They can tell you how "stiff" my suspension is.
The fear of being thrown off ? A little oversteer due to road bump is nothing a "true enthusiast" can't handle.

My 2cent : If you can't handle stock CTR stiff suspension... maybe is time for a Camry

Cannot say like that lar. M54B22 is at least 200cc and 2 cylinders more than the cibik. But in the end still lose. Thats the whole gist of the issue. If no replacement for displacement, shouldnt 320i be the clear winner already?

After trying & driving enough of cars, I realize every car is just like different person, becasue they are made by a group of people with their value/believe/mindset/technology in mind, deliver the car to their targeted segment. Hence, different behaviour/charactor on the car. So, enjoy the fruits of these group of people. Just like you enjoy meeting different people outside. Everyone has their beauty inside. No one is perfect = No car is perfect, u just can't have everthing.

But then, our beemer is very well balanced. It's not fastest, but it's NOT slow at all either. When u acclerate hard, u may not feel fast, but look at ur meter, dat's the smoothness we have. It's not most comfort, but u don feel tired after whole day driving. In fact, it keep communicating with you. I just enjoy driving it & want more. Dat's wat I felt.:wink:

owning a BMW is about passion. if speed is what one is looking for, go for other cars.
perhaps, an old mini with turbochaged Hayabusa engine in the rear will satisfy you. 0-100km/h in 3.4 secs.
