initialM: i guess its ordinary civic FD with Mugen RR kit.. Whoa,so much torque different.. but HP is lower.. high torque, low horse power with high horse power, low torque.. How to manipulate? i don't really understand this.. i thought HP is proportional with Torque.

HP sells car, torque win races. No replacement for displacement.
The civic pick up is quite fast but my tiptronic comes handy.
Torque range also important on which gear you should play around. The rest depends on your ball.

the other thing we should look at is power/weight ratio, e.g. hp/tonne, NM/tonne.

so assuming both are automatics, a 1.8 civic on paper would have peak numbers of:
1. 111.3bhp/tonne
2. 140nm/tonne
(138bhp, 174nm, 1240kg)

civic 2.0:
1. 116.4bhp/tonne
2. 143.0nm/tonne
(153bhp, 188nm, 1315kg)

the e46 328 will be:
1. 140.9bhp/tonne
2. 203.7nm/tonne
(193bhp, 279nm, 1370kg)

e46 320i (6-cyl):
1. 116bhp/tonne
2. 143.3nm/tonne
(170bhp, 210nm, 1465kg (www.carfolio.com))

so looks like the civic 1.8 and and 2.0 should be able to outgun the e46 320i, given close power-to-weight ratios, and presumably less drivetrain losses.

what about my chipped old junk e34? :)
1. 140bhp/tonne
2. 180nm/tonne
(211bhp, 272nm, 1505kg)

my 46 325 easily tapaus a brand new civic..and its a 8 year old car...hehehehe..

Yup forgot bout the power to weigh ratio. Thats why always will be no replacement for displacement for BMW standard engine. But why 328 weight lower than 320?Today another Gen 2 wanna cucuk me WTF. I just drop gear smoke him 10 tiang and slow down at left lane to let him go.

What piss me, he is too close. What if i emergency brake? Thats why I let him go. Just show him a little what 328 torque is like. Also recently my 528 kena with Vios on hiway. 160kmh cucuk my ass. Then smoke him till vios become small in my view & slow down. Both cases they overtake me slowly coz takut makan asap lagi but I just mind my own business in left lane. Even porsche driver behind me also very gentleman. Dun follow closely let me overtake all the cars eventough zig zag then let him pass when the road is clear.

hehe.. but at PD highway after 12night is no more consider as public road..:4: okey, sorry to all sifus.. i dun drive like that all d times.. only sometimes when feel gatal or sleepy..:smokin:

No need to say sorry bro. Why you want to say sorry?? want people to respect you?? You can't buy a Double Cheese burger using that "respect" at McD la bro! Just respect yourself and stay safe.. It's our sense as BMW driver to have that power back to the wheel, but make sure to using it in the proper manner.

Good info from InitialM. Now, don't ever ever any BMW owner / driver tell me that they owned the BMW fleet just because proud of it's kidney grill!!! :thefinger: First thing first you'll think about speed and power before decide to buy BMW. Then secondly, you'll think about the safety features and branding.

And, BMW driver is intelligent enough to make judgement in driving fast..

It's ok la bro.. I'm not sifu or pro or wutsoever la.. I'm normal driver only. Just like you. Feel the same enthusiastic with our beast. But I'm just thinking why some pple trying to be an angle by driver a powerful car, which they couldn't do it!!

We can caring each other by sharing the safety advise, but not to condemn. If so, please ignore this thread and open new thread with title of "How To drive Safe in BMW (comments are only for the speed below 90kph)".:smokin:
