How is it true ?
You can increase the HP by raising the VE. Up the RPM, increase compression, advance the timing, direct injection, port & polishing and etc.... :) Increase HP is the same for both NA and FI, is just easier with FI, and cheaper. With technology & science, you can replace what you lack in displacement.

~May the boost be with you~ :D
Peace

LOL ... do you actually know what you're talking about bro??? How does one modify an engine to have a direct injection??? I'm assuming you're talking about modifications here cos you're mentioning port & polishing, up the rpm and so on ...

P/s: When it comes to torque for N/A engine ... The adage 'No replacement for displacement is certainly true'

turbology=:driver:
maybe turbology can be true also,if we compare different engine with same displacement..

Torque = HP x 5252 / RPM
HP = Torque / 5252 x RPM

Torque or HP ? Who care ?! IS THE SAME !!

You can replace what you lack in displacment with science & technology - this is always true no matter what circumstances. ;)

just being curious.

1) 3000cc N/A engine with 250Nm of torque, 250hp
2) 2000cc turbocharged engine with 250Nm torque, 250hp

which engine will perform better if we load it into the same car,
in terms of acceleration and top speed

I always had a fair play playing with JDMs. It's the UDMs guys that always think their car newer and faster and squeeze me to divider. BMW driver sucks la. I always adhere to the speed limit while on the public road. Thats what you guys should do right?
Racing on the road is far more dangerous la guys. Your life is on your hands.

Go play on the proper playground la. Safer..only one way traffic and lots of run off. If you do goes into the run off then you'll know it's always the driver not the car.
Oh yeah..when I'm on the circuit,I always busy thinking of getting round and round faster,Sometime,I dun bother who in front of me,its the cars that are faster from behind. Thats the scary.

no 1 for top speed, no 2 for acceleration.. am i rite?
no 2 also will have much stress and will not lasts longer

250Nm of torque at what RPM ? 250hp at what RPM ? What is the gear ratio, and final drive ?
You just can't compare acceleration with HP numbers without knowing others.

the BMW "WOW" factor

Had a run with a Civic 2.0 in my e60 525i M54..know what? The 525i struggles to actually leave the Civic behind.Bugger stayed glued on my tail till 170kph..only managed to pull away after that.

So a 2.2 320i? No way.. but does it really matter? Different cars,different class..enjoy the silky smooth power delivery,enjoy the refinement of the six and forget about Civics and Sylphys and Corollas.

and don't forget...the 'wow" factor...the toyotas and honda don't have that...:love::top::top:

Assuming 250Nm of torque @3500rpm, 250hp@7000rpm for both engine. Other parameters are all the same, gear ratio, final drive, weight..etc

Speeding is always the driver, the car and mother nature. Involving a competitor, can be a recipe for disaster!

CTR is on semi-slick if not mistaken, can kacau them in the wet, even if u driving a 318.. :listen:

Yup its on semi slick:listen:

uphill or downhill ? :D :D
close match. But 3.0 has the upper hand at curvy track due to flatter powerband and more consistantly, stable, predictable power, thus more speed in and out the turn = faster.
