answer to the initial question? YES,the Honda Civic 2.0 is faster than a BMW 320i....now how much does that CTR cost again ah?I've just scraped my idea for the GTI.

CTR selling approx rm200k.. U might want to consider the ride quality of the CTR,try n get a long test drive and see if u can stand it.If u can,go for it.
As for me,I think the mk6 GTi is a better more rounded proposition.

Haha..I knew it.

I'm over 35 and just love BMWs.I've had an e30 325i,an e36 M3,an e46 328i and currently driving a 525i e60 which is supercharged with 300bhp.BUT at the same time,I've also owned a Honda Prelude,a souped up Civic and a 400bhp Impreza ver8 STi.I enjoy both types of cars,which is a MUST for a true petrolhead/enthusiast.

So,since u've already bought the car,I suggest u enjoy it as what it is..a luxury teutonic sports sedan with all its good values and strong points. The car can be souped up if u want, but don't expect it to outperform an STi.Save up la..ur next car can be a nice speedy JDM that can give u all ur speedfix. But remember, very few JDMs can give u the sophisticated refinement of a German sports sedan.

OR,a third route for u to take/consider..the sleeper Q-car.Look it up.Ur e46 could be a prime candidate ;) u can save up for a supercharger that'll give ur 2.2 silky six 270bhp at least.Kit up ur car with a nice bodykit and some nice 18" alloys. Then drop it on Eibachs.U can do this stage by stage and enjoy what u hv..a true petrolhead will.

Racunnn........

waaa.. i like ur racun.. haha.. u have tried so many cars bro,STi must be the best..

King bro,

Sometimes not that we wanna let people pass. When I'm driving, I'm like a frigging beast. I let people go when I feel charitable. Like ystdy evening, on the way back home from work, I was joining the Fed Hiway from Jalan 222, already indicate that I want to turn right like for mins, then got space, then suddenly one Gen2 speed up and cut me.

Will I feel incensed? Hell yeah. Funnily, the right lane was empty so I actually overtook the bugger. He almost cut me off, so I returned the favour. Call me rude, and I admit I was reckless, but I actually moved my car side by side with him and tried to cut into his lane.

Then he also tukar lane, follow behind me all the way to Subang exit. Youngsters nowadays. You think drive modded Gen 2 with eyebrows and parp parp exhaust makes you king of the Fed Highway ah? Come on man, people are stuck in traffic jam, & all we want to do is just to move into the lanes which are moving...

young blooded bro.. hahaa.. you must be a road gangster when ure young..:top:

Haha. Lucky you bro. Get to experience the POWAR and prestige of the roundel at such a young age. Hehe. But honestly, if really want power, Bimmers aren't the first that usually comes to mind.

Those JDMs can really whoop some a$$ with their turbos and all... :D

I hope u'll consider my racun haha.. The STi was excellent,so was the e36 M3.

End of the day,it'll be u and ur 320i.. make the best out of it and enjoy the car.

racun noted.. haha.. bro, maintaining STi compared with BMW,which one is more expensive? Sti FC is more than 328i or what?

In terms of maintenance,UDMs cost more due to parts replacements which are more frequent cuz they don't last as long as JDM parts. My STi was bombproof, hardly had to replace anything.Very very reliable even with almost 400bhp.
In terms of FC,the STi drinks more fuel than the UDMs,a lot lot more!! They're generally tuned to run a bit on the richer side of the AFR spectrum,so that there will be more safety margin.

A forced inducted UDM is the best.Combines the best of both worlds, the performance of a JDM and the supreme sophisticated refinement and comfort of a UDM.

Need I say more?

Cannot. At least 2.5cc above. No replacement for displacement:top:

The quote "No replacement for displacement" are for those people who don't understant PSI, LB/min & maybe N2O.

Get a real BMW... the ///M... hehehe
How come no cars outrun my slow E30 318i?? Maybe it's manual...:p

We are comparing the engine CC, not the emblem behind our BMW. ;)

For a TRUE petrolhead/enthusiast like you, I am surprise that you are complaining about the stiff suspension of a CTR.
I never sat on any CTR. But all I can say is, it will at least be alot more comfortable than what I have on my E36. My wife is not complaining, neither do I.

safuanorsham : in 400m race, M54 320i can hardly touch a 2.0 civic (is it manual?). It a race track, maybe.

No need to be nasty dude..

And for someone who've "never sat on any CTR",I'm surprised u hv the 'wisdom' to comment on what my ride preferences are.I wonder.....

I used to own an e36 M3,and the ride is nowhere near as wooden as the CTR,not even close.

Peace

I have seen how a stock standard Civic Type R (FD2R) bounce on normal road.. it is bouncy, confirmed by a lady fren who is also in the forum... It took some time for her to get used to it, and after she got used to it, she commented that sitting on a more comfortable car ie E36 325i, feels floaty... :D

I hv indeed driven a CTR(FD2R) and while ride is not an issue on a smooth surfaced racetrack like Sepang,on normal 'Malaysian spec' roads, its just plain scary if u want to make rapid progress. The fear of being thrown off the road is very real indeed and the bounce will just tire u down after a while. In the end,u'll end up driving slow on most roads.

Its sad that many still think that a super stiff setup is the only way to tune a performance car's suspension.Ask Lotus,Litchfield,Whiteline,Bilstein etc and they'll tell u otherwise.
