If speed is the objective on buying a quarter million car, then CTR really is a good buy! Loaded with goodies that you will only see in a track car! :top:

Maximum score for syiokness when it comes high speed rempit!!

i don't understand why people buy 320i only to later complain that it's slow. sheeshh...

haha... remove the floor board and under dash NVH, can make the 320i lighter than Civic liao. Then try again.. :p

How fast can Civic go wor?! Are we talking about the souped up k20 in the CTR? or standard k20 in the Civic 2.0?

k20 is a high rev high hp low torque engine.. fuel consumption very high for daily commuting and only nice to rev in to reds.. my E90 is a lot more comfy in drive and in ride.. unfair to Civic if we start to compare such qualities.. :p :D to be exact, it will put them to shame.. :p

and.. the double decker dash with the blue illumination will make the drivers face look pale when seeing from outside.. kind of scary! ewwww.....

In many other car site - read how they use BMW as their benchmark .. if they can tapau BMW - waaa .. their car must be good ..

That in itself shows how people regard BMW..highly.To be a benchmark is indeed indicative of that fact.

Others are catching up fast, but they just can't get the overall balance right.

Having said that tho,BMW is no longer THE car when it comes to outright performance, especially in the sports sedan segment.Behind is what we are..

Standard Civic 2.0 la bro..CTR is already in a different category.

For a CTR,u'd need a manual 330i at least.A friend's CTR recently clocked 268kph(RSM),crazy car! Having said that,I wouldn't buy a CTR if I had rm200k to burn. For me,the Golf GTi still rules in that category. The CTR has got NO ride quality..it'll bounce u into submission before u cud finish ur drive. On fast backroads,u'll be backing off for fear of being thrown off the road by the super stiff suspension.

No thanks.

Maybe they thought 170bhp dah cukup to haul a heavy ass german sports saloon.A manual tranny might be able to hack it but the slushbox will just blunt the performance.

Like I said earlier,he'll need at least a 325i to even things out.U'll need at least 25% more power to even things up..rough rule of thumb.

bcuz its my first beemer and first car. and it is written there 170 bhp. i tot thats powerful enough since civics only 15+bhp.
mybe i have to change car.:listen:

Ooo... standard k20 in a standard Civic?! Got things to should about meh? The k20 is the longest serving (since year 2000), very successful 2.0L DOHC 16 valves i-VTEC low compression engine at 9.6:1. The same engine is being used in CRV and Stream for the past many years! Due for replacement, high time! The only set back about the k20 is it start to consume engine not long after warranty ends (suffered by most CRVs) and it's DAMN heavy! even by JDM standard!

155PS@6,500rpm
188Nm@4,500rpm
Kerb weight: 1,315kg

Bring the compression up from 9.6 to 11.7, you'll get 240PS..

but if i go for higher displacement like 325 330 328, my fuel cons will be high. we need a 2500cc of bmw to play with 2000cc honda. It means honda engine is more efficient due to amount of fuel burnt. my opinion only:driver:

btw i've never seen people stop by just to have a closer look at any particular civic FD. personally i've experienced that many times with my 1984 E30. different kind of joy with different kind of car. kot?:top:

What year is your car bro??? maybe your car have problem?

M54B22 ......... K20
168ps@6100rpm vs 155PS@6,500rpm
210nm@3500rpm vs 188Nm@4,500rpm

But then again as mention by astro both engine have a different characteristic in power delivery.

What's the current mileage? in terms of maintenance what have you done to the car???

If you hadn't done any then there's a few things you can do to tune up the car and restore back the power ... new spark plugs, new air filter, MAF (cleaning), new fuel filter, new axle and gbox oil and also check whether you have the latest DME & EGS software for your car ... couple of things like new air filter and MAF can be done diy and cheaply.

Stroke the M54 up with 2.5, or 2.8, or even 3.0L kit.. :top: Same engine block! No need change engine number.. :listen:

IMHO, If you want confortable luxury on wheels then the bimmer is it. That's why my Dad and I bought it.

If you want flat out tapau everything on two or four wheels at every straight or corner, then, you get a F1 car. But only one person will ride in it - you. You can't pick up girls with it. Not to say it is not hot enough, it is too hot - no air cond.

You have to be fit as a bull to drive it because of the brutal G-forces. So again cannot pick up girls because face it, how many beauty queens look fit enough to run 2.4 kilometers in 8 minutes.

You also have to wear a fire-proof suit and a crash helmet to drive it because when it crashes at high speed , it will come apart like a keropok. Remember it's a race car, not a street car. So again very hard to pick up girls because they don't like sweating in the fire-proof suit and it's difficult to put on make up when you have a crash helmet on.

One more thing to remember - Image asking your supermodel girlfriend going out to dinner with you. She in her Vidal Sassoon hairdo that took 3 hours and her make-up that took 2 hours and her Versace dress that had to be sewn on to her curves; the dress that will split apart if she hiccups. Imagine you giving her a crash helmet and asking her to climb into your F1 two-seater. What do you think she will say?

BUT, I guarantee you can tapau everything on wheels including the mamak stall on wheels at your street corner. Even PDRM Helang Squad will worship the steering wheel you touch.

But, we all want race cars right. Even my Dad and I. So our next purchase will be either a Toyota MRS or my dream Ariel Atom. Then can tapau 99% of the cars on the road when we go to tapau, so good enough.

So for sedate, relaxing drive days, going for wedding dinners etc., for my Dad and I to impress the girl in the next car at the traffic lights - take the Bimmer.
When you feel the need for speed - take the street rocket.

Salut

you didn't test drive prior to purchase..? do me this favour - if you know anybody with an E46 325i, buy him a drink then borrow the car for an hour. tell me what you think..

btw, a civic doesn't have to lose any power spinning a heavy propeller shaft.
