sorry jarance, just saw your message, how can i help?

Did you manage to get the USB drivers to work in your Win7-64b laptop. if not, just PM me
your email address and I will send you the procedure and how to set it up.

Please take note it is not perfect and I need you to do a test run and feedback me if there is any mistake.

Guys,

Though my engine idling is stable plus no hesitation, I think my MAF sensor has degraded (higher fuel consumption) and obtained following live data from scanner :-

- about 15 kgm/hr (air-con OFF)
- about 19 to 20 kgm/hr (air-con ON)

My mechanic using GT-1 said value of MAF should be 11 kgm/hr (aircon OFF) and 15 kgm/hr (aircon ON). Appreciate those with scanners to check & feedback readings of your MAF sensor.

Herbert,

Checked my E46.M54B25 with GT1, the MAF reading is 11.4 kg/h (air-con off) at 700rpm idle. What is your idle RPM setting ?
I think you need to interprete with fuel trims to see if the engine is running rich.

wow Jarance, idle is a bit high compared to mine. Wonder how your FC is since your car is almost exactly the same model as mine ?
You can use DIS to calibrate the idle by +/- 10rpm each time.

different unit g/s

DSC00022.jpg

aidilj , that works out to be 11.7 kg/hr. I notice from many N42 I have tested that the idle RPM setting is higher than M series engine, in the 800-900 rpm region.

You can see the voltage of the MAF sensor on DIS too, if you do not already know.

I am ordering a ELM327 bluetooth and will try to use a old PDA to display something similar to your Carputer.

yeah around 800rpm when aircon is on.

ELM327 is good for basic generic data, make sure you get a "proper" ELM unit not a china clone..

I'm using ELM327 1.3a, new version is ELM327 1.4b supports low power mode. ELM327 1.4a doesn't exist, except on pirate market.

I bought the chip and build it myself, it's serial. BT sounds like a better idea, you can give wifi a try..

I thought 800 rpm should be the normal idling speed. I think at 700 rpm, there might be some vibration at the engine.

My idling is at 700rpm since I got it 2 years ago, unless the previous owner has changed it.

Thanks for your info. Don't know what is my idle RPM setting. Since our cars shared same engine (M54B25) but different chasis, believe our MAF reading should be the same, isn't it? What is your fuel consumption (? L/km)

Calibration of idle rpm. Is DIS function in the scanner?
