After driving E39 520 close to 2 yrs, i noticed that it is not a rev happy motor. DME tend to upshift early around 3k RPM. That could be 1 of the reason why it take so long to accelerate. Anyway, on my last service, i bought a set of Bosch Platinum +4 & change. 1 word to describe, Shiok. It is more willing to rev past 4k RPM. Downside, louder engine roar. Heck, it is a BMW.

I don't think u can appreciate the BMW's qualities ie silky smooth drivetrain,supreme refinement,excellent build quality,great safety features and adequate performance for real world driving.

Let me guess..u want performance,u want something sporty and youthful,u want something contemporary and new..rite? A sporty Civic with bodykit and forged alloys or even a Mazdaspeed kitted RX-8 with titanium exhaust.Am I close?

Sometimes not that we wanna let people pass. When I'm driving, I'm like a frigging beast. I let people go when I feel charitable. Like ystdy evening, on the way back home from work, I was joining the Fed Hiway from Jalan 222, already indicate that I want to turn right like for mins, then got space, then suddenly one Gen2 speed up and cut me.

Will I feel incensed? Hell yeah. Funnily, the right lane was empty so I actually overtook the bugger. He almost cut me off, so I returned the favour. Call me rude, and I admit I was reckless, but I actually moved my car side by side with him and tried to cut into his lane.

Then he also tukar lane, follow behind me all the way to Subang exit. Youngsters nowadays. You think drive modded Gen 2 with eyebrows and parp parp exhaust makes you king of the Fed Highway ah? Come on man, people are stuck in traffic jam, & all we want to do is just to move into the lanes which are moving...

I'm over 35 and just love BMWs.I've had an e30 325i,an e36 M3,an e46 328i and currently driving a 525i e60 which is supercharged with 300bhp.BUT at the same time,I've also owned a Honda Prelude,a souped up Civic and a 400bhp Impreza ver8 STi.I enjoy both types of cars,which is a MUST for a true petrolhead/enthusiast.

So,since u've already bought the car,I suggest u enjoy it as what it is..a luxury teutonic sports sedan with all its good values and strong points.The car can be souped up if u want,but don't expect it to outperform an STi.Save up la..ur next car can be a nice speedy JDM that can give u all ur speedfix.But remember,very few JDMs can give u the sophisticated refinement of a German sports sedan.

OR,a third route for u to take/consider..the sleeper Q-car.Look it up.Ur e46 could be a prime candidate u can save up for a supercharger that'll give ur 2.2 silky six 270bhp at least.Kit up ur car with a nice bodykit and some nice 18" alloys.Then drop it on Eibachs.U can do this stage by stage and enjoy what u hv..a true petrolhead will.

Come to think of it, do you ever wonder how a monk would react if he drives on our roads, and encounter our 'famous' drivers?

I know what you mean. Sometimes might end up getting into a tangle with road bullies. Then again, at least I don't endanger other lives by weaving in and out like maniacs on the road. Hate tailgaters man.

Few nights ago, I was driving back along Fed Hiway when got Proton Saga Aeroback weaving in and out like crazy. Still didn't even manage to overtake me. So I decided to become a JERK. Purposely slow down with the cars on the middle lane so he cannot even overtake. So irritating you know. For all he know, he was probably cursing why an old Bimmer like mine can still be in front of his farting car...

Again, I must apologise. I have angst management issues whenever I'm behind the wheel. Sorry if I'd riled anybody up. Perhaps once I've grown wiser with age, and learnt from experience, I'll probably mellow down.

At 1st i want to go for 325 but ma fren said the r/tax is xpensive also the mntenance quite high..some more thy said that bm engine is more power even the cc is small 1.8 = JDM 2.0..then ill take 1.8 but unfortunately what thy mntioned rgrdng the power is totaly wrong..Actually it is ma mstake coz ddn't make a full research to the rite way...heh2..but handling n others is exellent..
