been reading some forum threads on FI'ing bimmers at other sites especially those in the US.plenty of FI'd e46 out there and they seemed to be fine.some even track their cars regularly without any problems.no doubt the climate there is different but those in miami for instance have almost the same climate as us..
having sc'd my car, i definitely wud have them again on my next car, unless it's a supercar la.. even then, there're developed sc kits even for the 996 and 997!!
and bro, u can always get more hands-on experience from our frens in singapore.. been tempted to take up their invitation to join their sepang track-days.. wanna also see how my car wud fare against their m3s, sc'd 325s, sc'd 330s, sc'd z4s and sc'd e39 530s..
cast iron vs alluminium vs allu-magnesium block? i believe most developed kits are not achieved instantly.. it's a result of continuous testing under the most 'likely' conditions, like any engine development? if u spend a bit more on coolers, fueling, tuning and gauges to compensate n monitor the 'alterations' on the operating limits of the engine, u wud then be minimising the risk, if not all (unless u lower the compression level?).. Hence the trd, impul, acs, etc add-on sc kits?
pls excuse my ignorance, i am learning here and there lah..
p/s: and for those spreading rumours that my car is in the workshop due to the s/c, i truly cannot understand why.. sigh..
