was at my mechs's place and ... is this the one ah..???

 yeah..i believe that is an ASA head unit.

different tuner uses different head units.Active Autowerkz uses Rotrex if i'm not mistaken.Infinitas uses ASA while Vortech seemed a popular choice as well.

so many choices out there but sadly not so in dear ol'malaysia..

:) fuyyooo!! adam..power not enuff ke??

I got some question!

Is the e46 M3 engine and the e46 330i engine the same?

I want to mod the ASA sk plus kit to my friends e46 M3 car. I m not familar with BMW engine at all. Hoping someone can help me understand more about it.

By the ASA supercharger you saw in KSM place is mine. That is a TM 15, i got both TM 12 and TM 15.

The TM 15 should get the Toyota 4agze to 400HP.

This is an update on what we have done so far.

no... it maybe based on similar engine block, but the rest is different

400hp? running what boost and internals lah??? 400hp seem to be a bit too much for the 1.6 block... reliability becomes a problem with too high boost...

:) yeah..all these jap engines seems to be qouted with huge amount of horses!!! but what puzzles me is that when translated to on road performance they normally fall short.. 1.6 with 400bhp??? dang!!!

i'd be lucky to get 260rwhp if i supercharge my M52B28..

 guys/those in the know.. which one wud u go for??? AA or ASA??
i've read up on the Rotrex/AA system and the system they use is quite interesting.the head unit has its own oil system without having to tap the engine's oil pan as with the ASA unit.

and the AA kit doesn't use piggyback, instead it rewrites the existing ECU.

the AA comes with a bigger more balanced looking intercooler which looks better than the uunit offered by Infinitas.

on the other hand, the ASA unit uses a lower boost compared to the AA ones thus giving less stress to the engine but at the same time producing approximately the same amount of power..

anyone with more arguments?? i know not many guys are using the AA kit..except i think mr Casanova? i know a few guys with the SK1 though..

toyota 4agze is a really reliable engine actually. 400hp is not the highest hp rating in Malaysia. Hopefully with 1.8 bar onwards.

The highest HP achieve is close to 450 HP that i have seen on a turbo.

Stock bottom end with head fully modded and also engine management.

They will be running on the drag strip not for street use, imagine that the engine already lightweight with high HP and also the car is also damm light.

Well! what can u aspect from a 1.6 litter engine, it is already running more than it should be.

The charger is for my Barbados customer anyway.

Thanks for the info guys on the S/C.

I dont see that ASA has s/c kit for the M3 engine, they only written e46 330i.

I might have to try the Australian s/c, Raptor S/C. They are like the Powerdyne, internal belt driven but with more advantage and also more affordable.

What is the max boost that the 6 cylinder BMW engine take without modding the ecu? If i have to mod the ecu, what kind of piggyback or chipping is recommended?

Rotrex and ASA are the new generation of supercharger. Their internal system are called Planetary.

I dont know much about Rotrex S/C, but i can explain about ASA supercharger system.

The 2 main advantage of the ASA supercharger is:-

1) ASA has the highest step-up gear ratio, which means that the lag time of the supercharger is very minimal among all the centrifugal supercharger in the market.

2) It has a supercharger clutch with engage with torque. There will be no boost when the car is idling.

Running an indepent cooling is not a problem. It can be done with any s/c and turbo setup. The system are available in the States. Rotrex are pretty inovative to use this system.

bro.. look up ESS!! been rated higher than inifinitas, technik or even AA kit.. comes with injectors, software too.. but it'd still be tapping from the engine oil like any other ASA blowers..

their 'aftercooler' is somewhat innovative and shud be more efficient with our HOT, HOT weather!!

:) synchron..look up AA.they've got a stage 1 and stage 2 SC kit for the E46 M3..stage 2 brings the power up to 500bhp.uses the C38-71 rotrex head unit and a custom manifold..

adam, have u upgraded ur intercooler yet? how's the clutch?done already?

the prices are almost the same so there's not much in it..i don't mind bringing in the stuffs myself but the tax will be a killer!!! why'd they have to tax it so high?? gotta find a way la...damn.

Great kit and great pricing!
 yeah man!!!! USD9500 for the M3..damn!!!! if only our ringgit were stronger!!

Not many ppl can afford or want to buy a s/c kit which is at this price.

What type of chip or piggyback ecu is recommended for the BMW?

:) i know that Infinitas uses ASAtronics piggyback..but ESS and AA don't use piggybacks but they actually reprogramme the standard ECU.i guess u can use most aftermarket piggybacks like Motec,SMT6 etc..

dude, motec and haltech are standalone.. the former cost 20k at least.. the latter cost 6k.. those price doesnt include tuning..

smt, obit are piggyback.. cost around 2k including tuning.. some newer version can even tune cam phasing..

can the bmw run an s/c without piggyback? pls dont.. or u'll be running LEAN.. trust me.. :D
