Indeed it is insane ... in Kuantan the BMW did a free check on the stalled car and have provided a list of parts tht needs to be changed. Upon approval and agreement by the owner, then only will they order the said parts :top: ...

Yup.. and that should be the proper way. :)

all cars can go through except mine?

also depend on car as well, i seen kancil go thru flood water like no business because of carburetor engine not injection , new engine need more optimal environment. it seems such case of bmw stall happening every year during oct/nov/dec/jan season. bmw is a car lux & sport not all wonder lar. unless you get X5.

Any one know where can i buy a rain coat for my BMW ?
Next time raining wear a rain coat, 99% safe. Not 100% safe.

BMW memo:
Raining day drive on your own risk. BMW Malaysia will take no responsibility.
Good Luck, hopefully Malaysia 365day no rain. 101% safe

:burnout:

kancil intake above the radiator... so is most of the jap cars...

conti likey not so, as they dun have flood waters as their countries has already top class away from this kind of problems..

I remember in some of the earlier forum posts during 2004, many members had their e39 and e60's have water getting in due to the low intake, same with the e90's, then some SC's decided to modifiy or remove the lower intake...it worked well...

so,

WHY BMW HERE DON'T LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES IN OUR FREAKING WEATHER WE HAVE HERE IN MALAYSIA !!

With global warming, even Europe is not spare from flood. So probably continental car manufacturers have to start taking this more seriously in their design.

yo, please drive Kancil then.

only the owner truly know how big of a splash he/she got. or how fast he/she hit the puddle of water.

in science ,

flood is water, splash by water is also water, defination as long certain dept is same as flood cosider , water splash on certain area also simulate flood lor. this i would say its bad luck.

now is up on both our friend and BWM good will to resolve this.

hope its not big issue, i had friend who went in bmw after his car got flooded then when finish diagnostic sent out to other workshop to fix

I read in the earlier postings that the car was left there for hours. I wonder why. With all the passing vehicles especially the bigger ones, it could have extended the damage.

... being the case, indeed it will bro ... :frown: ..

The argument saying its flood water when its only a splash hence still kena water IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!
Like that, how to send car to car wash? Also splash what? Also water what?
Dear TS, dont take this bull from BMW.
Write an email, cc to BMW Malaysia, Sime Darby, kementerian, your lawyer, paultan, mca michael ong etc etc
Make Noise Brother!
Send a msg that Consumers Rights Must Be Protected. Big Companies think they can screw customers and get away in Malaysia.
Send a strong message and fight, bro.

don't act like kid . we never protect bmw , just take legal action if have sufficient prove (design fault) , if not just keep quiet !! and be civilise ..

TS,
You may want to go through the case with your legal counsel. Going to the tribunal is not advisable because the amount of damages sought is more than its jurisdiction

Latest news from BMW Thailand:

There will be no BMW sell in Thailand start from this case, because Thailand at April have splash water festival.

Att: to all BMW member never ever drive your car to Thailand at 12 till 15 April, because Splash Water Festival, thanks :)

dont look at the the amount of damages...seek comfirmation from the tribunal of whether cause of action arised therefore entitle for warranty claim...but be prepared will all the technical arguments...

The tribunal is not a place to hear technicalities....in court you can call in experts to justify your case. Secondly, one have to state the amount of damages you are seeking and the tribunal will not even hear your case. Thirdly, if the cause was intake of water into the engine due to exposing the vehicle to abnormally high water level then it is clearly void of warranty. You would have to bring in experts to support that your actions were not deliberate and the vehicle should be able to withstand such anomaly.

I would not want to comment further as it may affect your case. Good luck

Its too late for the TS, but as a learning for all of us, see the screen shot below from the f30 user manual about wading. The max is 9.8 inches and water needs to be calm ( very important ), driving at a constant speed of no more than 10kmh.

All the best in fixing your car...
