Actually, they are already laying down the induction cables for the cameras.
If you notice at certain points of the MEX highway, there are 3 lengths of steel cables stretched across all lanes of the highway. I saw this kind of layout on many of the roads and highways around Cyberjaya and Putrajaya.
At first I thought they were a form of "yellow lines" to slow down cars, but after studying the map pointing out the locations of future AES cameras, the two clicked together. The metal cables are guide cables for the cutting machines they are going to use to cut the grooves in the road for the induction sensor cables.

So remember the locations where your car runs over these 3 steel cables, this where your AES enemy is going to be residing very soon.
Here's a video I made of a stretch of cables laid out across the Dengkil-Cyberjaya bypass road (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=2.884559,101.660675&num=1&t=m&z=16) for a future AES camera

I took a drive down south (to SG) and back (KL) today. The AES listing for the NS highway has only one live camera running (that i noticed). The rest were not up yet or totally fictitious. But there was one sniper under a bridge nearer to JB though. A good ol' manual flasher on the opposite side alerted me though.

I saw that and the other one is near the toll as you are 8-10 km from the end of road towards toll as you reaching kl

Yup. Thats the one.

The Penchala Link one is probably not AES since they stop you later. AES will send you the summons. No need to stop you. Unless they plan on installing one later. But its common knowledge (for those who regularly use that route) that its their favorite hang out for speed trap there.

Reported in the newspapers "There is no restriction in the use of detection devices by motorists to beat the Automated Enforcement System (AES), said Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri."

So the question here is what are the devices we can buy/use to detech the AES?

500m detection is too late. This thing detects and snaps from 1km away..
I think those are the portable AES cameras that can take 1km away.

The fixed AES cameras are aimed at such an angle that they can only take a snapshot of a car in the lanes right next to them. The app looks like its only for the fixed AES cameras as its based on its database of the JPJ announced locations.

now 2 hour drive from JB to KL will be history. Time to buy real kuntchill and pelan pelan kayuh

i believe along MEX they have installed the AES, just need to know the exact km..
i wonder whether the current speed detector (using laser, etc) can detect this AES..because since sensors have been laid on the road, so i guess the laser detector is useless,,

There is a new one at sungei besi puchong highway beside kompleks Susan negara on the left just before Astro.

Clear as anything with a big yellow sign, but I did not see the camera.

There is one just after bangi exit and before kajang exit ( from south to north ) .. but i got snapped by the one at Km 360 while travelleing back north .. too late to act . Just wait for the ticket.

BTW , when i was coming back to Kl from north , i didnt see any single AES flashing , as i was speeding .. weird .

Question.... Say I am travelling within the speed limit and as I am apporaching the AES sensor, there is another car speeding like there's no tomorrow on the next lane. So naturally the camera will be triggered, flash activated and picture taken. But the problem is that in the photo will have two cars side by side, one travelling within speed limit and the other breaking it. Can the AES single out the speeding car only?

Good question! I would like to know the answer too.

The permanent AES with cables/sensors across all the lanes supposedly can determine which lane the offending car is... Much like those speed indicator electronic signboards on the Kerinchi Link...

According to what JPJ claims, the camera would mark in the photo which lane the car has been caught speeding.

It was reported that AES camera uses radar beam that cover all lanes (dont think they'd reveal this detail technically), and intelligent enough to distinguish/identify/capture the alleged speeding vehicle, even you are driving within the speed limit side by side at the same moment. Theoretically, thats how it work. But in truth, still can be argued?
