More than 60,000 images taken since the commencement of AES a mere two weeks ago. These are only very few cameras when compared to the numbers when all the cameras is commisioned (800++ cameras).

Total cashcow.

Now that the camera is functional, when the speed cam detector will be legal?

I actually love to rempit inside SMART, but from gear 1 to 2 only. Recent case i read is Subaru with Honda if memory serve with 1 innocent Toyota involve. Haih...

Forgot to add, One at Putrajaya, 3 lane road with 70 km/h speed limit. *sigh*

Are there speed cameras in the SMART Tunnel?

For our bros not along the west coast, here's a HD video of how does the AES system looks like. Hard to spot from far if you're going quite fast.

So memorize this map by hard: https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=...c445e80a64ad96

And I'm not going slow just only for the recording. That is the actual f***-ed up speed limit of that highway: 80km/h
We all look like clowns in the video staying at that speed limit.

JPJ To Install 831 Cameras In Stages Over 18 Months

PEKAN, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- The Road Transport Department (JPJ) plans to install another 831 Automated Enforcement System (AES) cameras in stages throughout the next 18 months.

JPJ deputy director Datuk Ismail Ahmad said the JPJ had installed 14 AES cameras at various hotspots or accident prone areas in the Klang Valley and Perak since Sept 23.

"The hotspots were identified based on the high number of accidents or traffic offences at the areas after a study carried out by the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS), JPJ, Public Works Department and police," he told reporters after closing a 'Satu Komuniti Satu JPJ' programme here today.

He added that the AES would be installed at 52 locations identified.

heading to sbn is alright ..but these stretch has got a ridiculous speed limit ..90 km/h ...

Ya, it's aiming those heading north from Seremban. 90km/h is really really ridiculous but everyone still slows down automatically. Very dangerous when they start braking!!! Then after passing it, all start whacking again. hahaha...

Now they say got signboard at least 2-3km from the AES. But previously also got green signboard "Zon Operasi Had Laju" with the camera symbol. A bit confusing but the signboards set up for the new AES system is yellow with no camera symbol.

@game-R ...only if you've posted these video earlier i would not had been caught by these freaking flasher ...damm got shoot here last friday ....and never saw any sign ahead of these camera's ..

JPJ: Adequate signs in place to warn motorists of AES

PETALING JAYA: There are adequate signs to warn motorists of the Automated Enforcement System (AES) cameras at 14 locations nationwide, said Road Transport Department (JPJ) deputy director-general Datuk Ismail Ahmad.

In refuting motorists' claims of inadequate signs leading up to the speed cameras, he said they were prominently displayed.

“The signboards are located between 2km and 3km from the cameras that capture images of speeding vehicles.

“For cameras that record motorists running red lights, the signs are located between 50m and 500m from the traffic lights,” he said.

He added that the signs could be seen clearly even at night.

You're not the only one. I kena flashes from those bloody things the previous weekend. Strangely, as of writing this post, I haven't gotten any summonses yet.

As with everything that is printed in local newspapers nowadays, there is a term ... Wait ... What was it called again? ... Oh yeah! ... BullS***t!!!

As you can tell from the video, there isn't a single warning sign on that stretch of highway before the cameras. Here's the best part: once you turn off from the LDP (which has a 90 speed limit), there is only one 80 speed limit sign just before the cameras, only on the slow lane side of the highway, and hidden behind the MEX bridge! Really geram la!

Reviewing the video closely, I noticed that there are two embedded sensors in the road in each lane just before the cameras. This means this system doesn't use lasers (like the Singaporean speed cameras) but using the same inaccurate system used by the Kerinchi Link speed signboards. Makes me wonder if they still can detect you if you go between the sensors riding on the white lines.

Hint: also, look closely and you can see that there is no sensors covering the emergency lane. Heheheh ....

Evil Hint: also notice that there is no concrete reinforcement of the camera poles. Who can lend me a lorry with a "loose" steering wheel I can borrow? Preferably one with kangaroo bars too!

Game-r you should keep this video original copy. it can be used as evidence. if i am not mistaken it was clearly stated in the law that all speed trap must have warning sign x distance before the trap.

EPIC!!!

That's what will happen when JPJ run out of funding for the other 800 AES cameras they plan to install.

I think we are getting too used to driving above speed limit partly due to the newer cars made to go faster and quieter where 110kph feel like 70kph... So how? go back to driving tortoise car? hahaha Where 70kph feels like 110kph...

In respond to the AES, BMW should come up with speed limiter in which we can reduce speed from 200 to 60 kmh within 2 secs or else introduce newer model like 310, 515 or 76.5 (650cc). surely we can notice our travelling speed haha..
