"wow" sound like some component from the engine being loose..is bad why not send to SC to check immediately.

Do share w wht SC found wrong w ur engine bro. At least u hv peace of mind in rectifying th prob. Good luck!

jwah, it sound like the belt tensioner bearing sound. The pitch of the sound seem to change when you rev up your engine.

Doesnt sound normal. Send it in asap. Any warning messages from the iDrive or instrument cluster? Power reduced when driving?

Today totally no time, so riding the half broken UDM. Tomorrow sends to Quill. But problem is after a hot driving the noise gone. The pitch of noise does related to engine rpm. Hope it is the tensioner bearing.

Yes, I agree could be the tensioner bearing. I had exactly the same sound with my e46 a year back and solved by having the bearing changed.

tensioner and belt

I was having similar noise problem 3weeks ago, but the noise of mine is less. After changing
the tensioner problem almost gone. Left very little noise now during cold start. Once it is hot totally quiet. Suspect belt problem now despite changing the tensioner. All done under warranty at Quill. I intend to change the belt next service.

Thanks guys, I will go to Quill to show them the problem. Very hard those, because by the time I get there, it is very quiet!
Show them the video...

Hospitalized, SA said the belt pulling many parts, Aircon, Alternator, Tensioner....so have to take it apart and check one by one.... So no car for today and may be tomorrow. :(

Unless you already have alternative and/or driver, my experience with SC here is tht better ask for courtesy car as small thing also can drag the time spent in workshop.
