now the engine give another rattle noise, like cit cit cit after 1500rpm, so next tensioner has to be replaced

ah. the cit cit cit sound is very annoying. The SA is yet to call me on the parts. Haiz.

sigh - it looks like i am developing the same symptoms. first 2 minutes after cold start generates this annoying squeek-tick. wonder why only the 320d's get it, is it because of higher engine vibrations vs our petrol counterparts?
i'll see what my SC says when i send it in for the next service.

Maniac. I think you should bring your car over ASAP. I have send my car over to Quill last month and till today, no one from Quill called me in regards to the parts which they identified. Will take them forever to bring in the parts. I am wondering, if this car is being assemble in Kulim, don't they have the parts there?

today is very cold...the Tan Sri Cicakia in my car having party non stop...WTF:motz:
So loud...shame of BMW

Got the similar noisy cold start.... when arrived at Quill all lower down already....
The Service Guy asked me to leave the car, so that he can do cold start after 4 hours stop. Forget it if there is no courtesy car.

Get myself a waxco silicon spray from tesco.... spray on the belts and problem solves.... for now.....

sent my 320d to quill for the third time. The cicak noise came back after two weeks fixing the tensioner. Now the early morning startup noise is getting worse, got to leave the car overnight for them to check. I wonder what would they do without the parts (new improved tensioner), which i was told it will take months for the parts to arrive. The price we paid (overprice) DOES not reflect the service we received. In UK , 320 cost 30K only, our money RM150K. Never encounter anything like this in all my Japanese car. Small problem takes long time to solve............

At this state they are experimenting , work close with the sa. As long as they entertain you then It is ok

I cured it after I realized there is a Datuk God inside. Then I pray and offer the Datuk pulleys, tensioner and belt makan some candle. The Datuk feels full, then stop complaining....peace now. Also spray some cicak repellant (silicon) to all the places...haha...peace peace..

This morning , I started the car.....wow....peaceful. just pure diesel engine sound...

waliao.. didnt know that you have a datokong inside your car.. when all failed, it best to try the unconventional method. LOL

BMW DA TOK ONG !!!!! , must pray more to BMW GOD so our car dun brake down , should ask BMW AG to start BMWTOLOGY like sciencetology

BMW SA told me they ain't allow to use those things! so order me the tensioner...It is welcome...

The cicak coming back after 2 days...stop the engine....spray some cicak repellant to the top left generator and tensioner...

next time I shall record a video to show you how the cicak running away.

jwah, u are all kind of doc man. candle for pulley...hahaha. bro, it is not the pulley. it is the belt. what brand BMW is using. Use DAYCO man. the size should be 6DPK1817

Actually they are three sources of noise (friction noise + high pitch chit chit chit noise)
1. noise from the belt: Replaced the belt and the noise coming back in a month
2. noise from one of the pulley: Replaced the power steering pulley and the chit chit noise coming back two days
3. noise form the tensioner: it is suspect to be the source of the chit chit chit... noise

the silicon spray really help, but when it dried up , the noise coming back. So far I am happy with it

Have you tried replacing all the belts? Not just the one you suspect the noise is coming from?
I am currently having this same problem, posted it up on another BMW forums, everyone who had the same noise all confirmed the noise will be gone once the belts has been replaced.

320d only one belt. And it gone but come back after one month

I thought it usually 2 belts. One belt for driving the alternator, steering pump, water pump.
The other for the air con compressor.

yeah it look like one belt only.
