wkwoo69 : ya.. miss that.. anyway .. maybe a nice sunday drive around the city.. enjoy the little bit extra torque we all have ..;)

the Swift Sports edition (black car above) looks very very nice ;) man.. you know ? all this strong creased body lines... seems to have stemmed off from Mr. Bangle's design from the E65, E60 and finally E90! Getting more acceptable to have these lines

Not me though. Sold it 3 months back. Come to think of it, it took 3 months to sell it as well. Couldn't afford the maintenance, tax, insurance, etc. after sinking down for property....

Hence, my deep interest in the GTI, or rather, the Swift Sport. What a wonderful bonus that it comes in 4-door form by default. Ah, and the review written by J. Simister of CAR days lagi....

:) damn man!!! 125bhp???....and 4doors!!
imagine if that sells for rm80k!!
:) i'll be happy with the 1.5 though,all i want is a manual..
any news yet??

I tested the Swift at Jln Maarof branch on Saturday. The salesman said he had no idea about the manual, though they would be bringing in the GTI. No idea about price, of course.

After the brief (but mostly full throttle) drive around the area, is it worth RM30k more than a Myvi? Absolutely. Now, there is no reason to get slaughtered for an older (but slightly more spacious) Jazz.

Nice car but high maintenance as well....I personally luv the car outlook.... :D
the car come with 3 years warranty (& 2 years free service or 50,000km whichever earlier)

got my red swift last week, really not bad for town driving...

can anyone give the HP & torque values of the Jazz Vtec as a comparo?

Wanted to test drive the swift at the only outlet in Penang..was put off by the salesman that no test drive cars available....SHIT THEM...i saw 2 cars outside and they say its customer car...

Ya right....customer car..so dirty..parked in front of the sales office on a sunday afternoon...arseholes!

Wah, I'm quite surprised that they treated you so badly. In my case, they didn't even bother with the borang etc etc. Maybe it was because the salesman was a pretty young chap and was relieved to deal with 2 (fairly!) young males, as opposed to all the aunties, etc.

Its definitely going to be a manual, whether normal or GTI. I've had it with autos, even though I commute KL-PJ every work day! Solution is to go in earlier, and leave later!!!

Ade,

only one swift dealer in Penang?? oh ya...Penang kia all support Honda one....

anyways, you should test it first before buying it, when i tested the swift, really whack the corners & redline it everytime its possible...hehehe damn fun.

but now for my car, run in the engine first lo, after 1000km only start to rev harder....

Hi Bmchai

I have tested my Swift on Highway this morning when going to work.....i floor down all the way on NKVE toward Klang....top speed i can go in my Swift is about 175km/h.....cant go much faster....due to traffic also quite heavy.....but i can say one thing.....the car handling was good....very very good. :D

Is the steering electric? I commented to mr. salesguy that it is nice and weighty (dunno whether got sufficient feedback, was not going fast enough!) and he said its "eps". The engine is sweet, pretty free-revving and sounds just nice - not boomy at all, but enough to encourage you to floor it.

Using my brief spin for comparison, it feels a lot better than the Jazz in terms of inherent balance and resistance to see-sawing. The engine feels smoother, and the interior, though smaller (but cozier) is more well made.

With the uncertainty cast by the NAP and the attendant potential "sanctions" against CBU hatches once the SRM is launched, the KS part of me feels like throwing money at a Suzi dealer and demanding that they bring in the manual ASAP! But now, some people say that their access to new APs have been frozen...apa lah...

FYI, there is a local Swift forum (check out the link on ZTH), but lets keep this one active k...

BMchai - sold your E46 yet? Last time we met, we were both b.itching about the horrible maintenance costs. I think the Swift will get you more action (oh! so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!), but the lady'll prolly want to drive it herself!

........waiting for the warranty to expire first, hehehe!

I saw lots of Swifts in PG. Not to mention VW GTIs! One Swift which looked really awful was a dark gray one with chrome 17s. Ugh! I wonder if anyone has bought the Premier version? Looks pretty good, save for the naff body coloured inserts. Bet the Advanti 17s throws off the handling.
