Speed traps galore!

I have about twenty over tickets yet to be paid and I really hate those morons sitting in the middle of the devider. When I knew I got caught, I would normally blast my horn as I drove pass those pathetic axxhxxxx and scared the shit of of them

Latest info: The trap on the Connaught highway to Cheras has been moved forward. The copper is now under the first flyover from the Federal Highway entry and the roadblock is well before the toll plaza. Caught a lot of people by surprise this morning.

yea..... when I pass them around 11am, they were still setting up the play ground.... by the time I came back, even though all the cars opposite direction were flashing like crazy well before the camera point under the bridge, but the copper still managed to catch tonnes of fishes..... which makes me wonder why.....

Jln Bukit Kiara is as old as the favourite Cheras, Kesas and NKVE spots. Every Saturday morning it's both ways FYI. Even the Lambos, Ferraris and Porsches of DHeights don't get caught there What's more important to know is the NEW spots like DUKE and the shifting of the KLIA spot. There wasn't one to KLIA today...

BTW, I've been flagged down at the usual Cheras spot just past midnight before, so don't think that you're safe after dark. :wink:

I was caught at Bukit Kiara around 10:30pm to 10:45pm at night with 1 Ferrari & a Lambo next to me... couple of Skyline & Merc was 'parked' not too far away from my 'negotiation parking point'... eventually I was let go before any of those Ferrari & Lambo... so guess the copper really caught some big fish that night....

Seems like a lot of night ops these days! I'm always wary that the Kiara speed trap will turn into a breathalizer trap too. It's a perfect spot for big catches.

From now until end of Raya holidays, do follow the speed limits especially in the interstate highways. Police already setting up huge tents along the roads to welcome speedsters :listen:

I was caught at Bukit Kiara around 10:30pm to 10:45pm at night with 1 Ferrari & a Lambo next to me... couple of Skyline & Merc was 'parked' not too far away from my 'negotiation parking point'... eventually I was let go before any of those Ferrari & Lambo... so guess the copper really caught some big fish that night....

I normally just ask for the ticket. Its easier and its about the same price. If we can afford luxurious cars why stoop to a level where we have to beg. Just pay the ticket and be done with it!!

Once I had over 30 tickets and waited 5 years before paying them all for a mere 700 bucks. Think if as a special payment for the right to speed ha ha!!arty:

New tagging place at DUKE heading towards Duta. They tag right at the toll plaza. You can see him sitting there next to SmartTag lane, and then tahan you about 1km further. But from Duta to Ampang no speed trap. Enjoy!

i did the same and i received love letter from JPJ to invite me to hand over my driving license...KEJARA system anyone?

This area where set the traps, they're not even prone to accidents. What rationality do they have setting up speed trap there.

I travelled on the NSE on last Fri from KL to Penang, there were 3 speed traps : 1st one near Bidor, 2nd one before Taiping turnoff ( 1st & 2nd were operasi where they stopped the cars on the highway) and 3rd one was under the bridge near Bukit Merah Lake Town (which used speed detector without stopping cars).

In the 1st speed trap, I was stopped for a good 30s before letting me go. The police looked up & down his list, probably could not believe that I was not speeding. In the 2nd speed trap, I was stopped & asked to pull over. An officer approached & asked me for driving license then went to rear of my car and had a look at the no plate.He returned to the driver side after that and before he could speak a word, I told him sternly that I wasn't speeding as I had used the cruise control (which was the fact), he just laughed, returned my driving license and waved me off. What a joker!

Some of these so call operasi, I believed they do not actually used speed detector. They probably judge by the type of cars you are driving and try their luck, hoping that you would fall for it. This is not the my 1st encounter of this sort, I had similar experience in the past at NKVE, Karak-Kuantan Highway, Kerinchi Link near Science Centre. So guys, know your right & don't just give in!

Was rushing to Ipoh from KL for a meeting a few months ago. left KL around 8am and did between 170 - 200kmh. Short stop at Tapah R&R and as i merge into the hway I can see many cars flashing from opposite direction. I said OMG. I'm going to jail when I saw the road block ahead, both sides. All cars got stopped. with the speed, my thought they might just handcuffed me!
Strangely, the officer that waved me to stop did not looked at my plates nor hold any list card or something.
So anyway one officer came by . I did not see him carrying any list either. just a buku saman. Asked for my license, went around my car. hand back the license and asked me to go! Later found out they were only shooting the opposite traffic, and on my side was just regular checks, road tax etc.

And this morning 10am at penchala link, was about to speed as I was running late for meeting when suddenly remember bout the stretch. then i saw something behind the overhead bridge column and lift the throttle. They were still there at noon on my way back

Deputy IGP: No more ‘hiding behind bushes’ for speed traps

KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 — Traffic police will not be “hiding behind bushes” any more to trap speeding motorists, newly promoted Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said today.

He said that in a bid to be more transparent, motorists will be warned about speed traps.

“We should not be hiding behind bushes. We should come out in the open and enforce the law,” he told reporters at a community function called “A Day with the Police”.

Since September 2009, police have issued summons to over 2.5 million motorists, mainly through speed traps and speed cameras mounted along major highways and city streets.

The police and the Road Transport Department have the power to blacklist motorists three months after summonses are issued under the Road Transport Act, which will allow the authorities to either suspend their driving licence or refuse road tax renewal for their vehicles.

But blacklisting of car owners was deferred until the end of February and then extended until March 10 as the police offered discounts to those who settled their summonses.

About 10 million such summonses have reportedly been issued since 2000.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha had said the amendments to the Road Transport Act (RTA) effective February 1, enables the authorities to use snapshots from the speed camera system, which is known as the Automated Enforcement System (AES), as court evidence to punish motorists for traffic offences.

It is reported that outstanding summonses have reached a total of RM2 billion from the year 2000 to 2008.
