Someone actually told me this: Better speed kuat-kuat and get maximum summons, more worth it. No diff if you kena maximum summons at 90 kph or 180kph.

I think now no more minimum and maximum summon, all rm300...
so speed kaw-kaw...

At least it's a flat rate.

Other countries charge based on how much your personal income is. 0.o

130kph is still worth it.... I kena 90kph at the Bukit Kiara Science center.. leaving Sri Hartamas after lunch.. same compound amount.. &^%$#@!!

There is hot spot, I also kena once there at 80+kph only.....
Have to drive slow during this period...

Try to get summoned at 240kmh and frame the summon and hang it in your house.

At your own risk though :D

Jln Bukit Kiara is as old as the favourite Cheras, Kesas and NKVE spots. Every Saturday morning it's both ways FYI. Even the Lambos, Ferraris and Porsches of DHeights don't get caught there :) What's more important to know is the NEW spots like DUKE and the shifting of the KLIA spot. There wasn't one to KLIA today...

BTW, I've been flagged down at the usual Cheras spot just past midnight before, so don't think that you're safe after dark.

So, where and when exactly can we slam it on an open road in KL? DUKE and Elite have always been the favorites.

No one's mentioned this yet -> MRR2 at Selayang, going towards Sungai Buloh, and as you come down the flyover after Giant. Think they sit at the overhead bridge sometimes to tag. If you're going the other way, I got pulled over once coming down the flyover at Batu Caves. Funny thing was, he took a look at my license at let me off without a word - this was at 11am!

Oh crap... DUKE has been my favourite place to errr "test engine power".... on a daily basis. Now looks like I gotta curb that.... Thanks for the heads up though!

Yeah that stretch is infamous. Weekends and Fri noon times are very very common. I presume other weekdays during the day as well. Thats the one and only place in KL where I use the cruise control. It's too frequent to try getting away with it.

Thanks. I didn't know that one!

I think DUKE was the last 'virgin' within KL :D So far I believe GCE (Guthrie Corridor Expressway) between Shah Alam and Rawang, and the 10km stretch to LCCT are still rippable. Unless someone knows otherwise?

3 or 4 months ago there was spin-out on Duke just after the Setiawangsa off-ramp heading out from the MRR2. It was at that tricky long left-hander that is tighter than it looks to be, so it caught that car out. 2 days later there was a radar gun underneath the Jalan Setianwangsa flyover, behind the second pillar on the central divider, pointing towards the Ampang side. This is immediately after a long straight downhill stretch which I occasionally hit 180kmh, but have stopped doing so. Funny thing was, he was there for 2 days straight at about 10am but I haven't seen him since haha.

Speed-wise on the Duke, it's only possible to hit high speeds only at certain spots between the MRR2 and Jln Pahang, and going north to the Batu Caves side. The road between the Segambut exit and Jln Pahang is like a rollercoaster, it's so uneven that even if I wanted to speed, I can't.

That is utterly annoying. Just 90kph and still got maximum summons. :stupid:

In Kuching, it's just as bad. I got tagged going 93km/h. Been driving for 10 years in my Kancil and have never been tagged. Just 8 months of driving the E46 jointly bought with my Dad and there's my first tag. I just love bimmers.

Salut

Bro, you're spot on with that observation. That left hander sure is pretty tight! Almost got caught out once the first time I sped thru that corner, looks pretty wide and able to attack at a fast entry speed, but once I entered, I felt the car was leaning too much towards the right that I had to dab on the brakes a lil' to safely get past that corner.

Very tricky and deceiving corner if I might add. And yeah, it's like a darn rollercoaster especially if entering from MRR2 onwards. :stupid: Got once I saw car accident right at the straight stretch after the Jln Kuching entry point.

93km/hr? Gosh, really very painful to know that you've tried not to speed, and yet still get punished to the max. If only value of summonses gets issued in relation to the speed we're travelling. The higher, the more we pay. :stupid:

I guess it's for our own good that elevated highways are limited to 90 kmh. An accident on one, especially a spinner, can cause a massive chain-reaction pile-up as there's no run-off space. I was almost caught in one driving on a Los Angeles freeway many years ago, when there was a spinner right in front of me, and scores of cars and trucks bearing down on me in my rear-view mirror. Quick illegal lane changing learnt from KL survival driving saved me from being squashed.

But gawd, it's impossible! I drove to KLIA again this afternoon sending my visitor off, and did the elevated portion of the highway at regulation 90kmh. Kenaris were passing me on the right and Kancils on the left, all turning their heads to see whether it was an orang kurang upaya driving a BMW so slowly! Of course, I showed them my true testosterone level immediately after passing the Caltex station... :D

Drive safely this season folks!

I don't mind paying 10% to 20% more in toll or road tax if they allow autobahn speeds on the highways. The time saved by fast driving will more than make up for the extra payments.

are the speed trap warnings triggered on gps device real or preset?
