e39 Radio, what is this small little plug for?

My ori headunit has 2 antenna. The radio reception become clear after i twist the big head antenna. The problem because the metal connection is not perfect and loose.

If yours is only one antenna like the small head one, then i don't know what to do liao.

just want to share my experience about my radio. the other day i unplugged the battery to remove my instrument cluster. after all done i connected back the battery and miraculously my radio signal reception works like charm. now no issue to get any radio channel. i realized that the time i drove back to penang last weekend. no idea what actually happened, but i think my radio is reset and my signal reception problem is fixed. i hope it stays that way. hehe.

I have a problem on my E39 year 2003. The radio went off and clock still has display and others works except Radio n audio.

What do u meant by "went off"? Can on but can not get the line? Also no sound from cd changer?

Your radio 'went off' with part of MID black off and left the clock right ? 'Went off' mean no radio right ? after a while, the radio came back and sometimes when the radio came back but unable to change station ? If this is what you are experiencing which I am too, then, chances are the LCM is faulty ........

I am having that problem and diagnostic show LCM internal fault.
