Dear All,

Need help. My E39 radio is not working properly. My RH speakers from the driver's, passenger and rear speaker doesn't emit any sounds. I have taken out the speakers and fix it to the LH and to works. I have trace the wiring and there is not problem. I have checked on eBay U.K and managed to find the same unit as mine. My question is, is their FM Radio and AM Radio bandwidth the same as ours? The unit is from Ireland.

I tried to get it locally or even get it repaired, but seems nobody have a used unit and willing to let go. If anybody have a good working unit nd willing to let go, please PM me.

It will be no point for me to get the unit if it is not compatible with our FM & AM bandwidth. Anybody knows or have knowledge about this? Please see the picture.

Thanks guys...

Bro Haywire..When you mentioned local model, what do you exactly mean? From my VIN number my E39 is a Year 2000 Region Europe Model M54.

Care to pm me your vin no, can check where your car is exactly from. But it sounds like its a UK car. If it is a UK csr, then it is compatible.

Yes just checked your car details and confirm its a UK car. A very early 530i Sport. I'm quite surprised as it had a very basic radio system without even the MID.

Anyway, to answer your original question, yes the ireland head unit will fit your car.

Hi, my 2003 local 520i radio isnt working, although the computer works fine.

Anyone wants to sell (or donate!) their unit especially those who have upgraded to custom hifi systems.

Or if anyone seen some lying around in the shops.

Thanks

Bump in guys.. my radio knob is not working well.. so I can't use it to control the volume.. it gets out of control (extra loud) when I turn it.. so no choice but to use the volume button. Anyhow to repair it?

But I can use the knob to off and on the player.
