I do track in my humble old EF, not my beemer, as it would take A LOT more money to do track in a beemer. My EF's b16 engine is solid as a rock. I've been to at least 8-9 trackdays thus far and i've done nothing but change oil and oil filter!! And yeah, the brakes pads and fluids have been changed quite a bit to. Other than that, its some basic suspension upgrades and a good set of tyres (AD07's in this case) and you're pretty much ready for a whole afternoon of fun. I'm no hardcore racer, just hobby for fun thing...
I dread to think what i would have needed to change if it was a beemer. It would take a lot more to prep a Beemer for track. Even the everyday ware and tare of Beemer is quite a toll on the wallet. I guess Jap tech takes beatings much better that German tech...
My fav corners... Long sweeping 3 braking into 4, than long sweeping and understeering 5 and 6 leading into 7 and 8 where its two corners taken like one big corner...
Turn 12 and
13 just sucks my balls in each time. They say these corners seperate the men from the boys... i guess i'm still a boy when it come to these 2 corners.. super fun none-the-less...
But my EF will probaly have to go soon. Financially, the money is needed elsewhere. But at least i can say i've been there. If money permits in the future, i'd definately be back... fingers crossed its a DC5!!! I love Beemers, but u can't take the Honda out of me either...
