Greeting to all...Just like to know which one is better through your own experience..thought of upgrading...NIKON D 90 or CANON EOS 450D ...in terms of overall performance ...pic quality. etcc...Thanks ...

You wont go wrong with the D90. The sensor is rated amongst the best for APS-C size, only FF sensors are rated higher. And at the price, best value for money.

I have bad experience using Nikon. They are very sux for usability.

Please, no fanboys allowed! hahaha

Here is a picture of some gears from our recent photoshoot. 4 x Nikon D700, 1 x Canon 1Ds MK3, 1 x Fuji S5 Pro, 1 x Nikon D300, 1 x Olympus E510, lenses & external flash units : too many to count! Moral of the story? Shoot photos, not each other!

If strictly comparing these two cameras (D90 vs 450D), the D90 will annihilate the 450D in terms of performance. Try shooting at ISO1600, 3200.

Cheers

I don't understand why we have to spend at least RM15K for a decent camera body when those days for a mere RM5K you can buy top-of-the-range Nikon F5. Digital sux.

Would you mind sharing your experience?

Was just mocking really...

Actually for me, the D90s HD video capabilities is enough for me to choose it over the 450D any time.

coz nowadays you are not buying a "camera" but a computer that can attach lenses to it!

But 450D can become pro already!

Understand that bro. But, there's a thing called economies of scale. And most of the Nikons are made in Thailand summore, including lenses.

It depends on the range. D90 and most of the kit lens are made in Thailand or China.

The higher models are still made in Japan, D300 and etc, plus the better lenses. You get what you paid for la bro.

Get the D700, image sensor similar size to 35mm film (and less than 15k) :top:

But I already invested in DX lenses. F2.8 constant summore. Die la like this man! If only I knew I would have kept all my 35mm F2.8 film lenses. (Double sux for digicams).

Sell la bro, sure got buyers like nik, oswanker waiting :)

Yeah, now those old film lenses are soaring in prices. At YL, the 28-105mm was selling for Rm600 previously, now up to RM920. When asked why, can use for FX ma!

Is true true bro? I still have my 28-105D F3.5-4.5 with macro capability. I bought brand new for RM1200.

How's your D700? I read from the review there's a tendency to overexpose in JPEG. Is that true?

Errr.......hahahaha.....

I'm a 450D user. Been tempted many times to join the dark Nikonian side. Given the option now, I'll definitely change to the D90. IMHO, even the D80 is enough to put 450D at a distance. Features aside, it's built quality is really solid.

But like what geoffrey said, I've seen superb photos taken using even a point and shoot. If you do not have the passion to learn and practice and most importantly, read the manuals, you won't snap good pictures even with the most expensive camera body and lenses.
