I got my Pirelli Dragons for RM431 each for that size and I'm very pleased with it. However, I'm not sure if you can get it for that price now. If you can get it below RM500 each, I still recommend it highly. Otherwise, the Micheline MVX looks good too but it's not a performance tyre.Originally posted by bimmerman@Mar 28 2005, 09:10 AM
Hey guys, in your experience, what's the best set of tires you could recommend for 225/45/17 at RM400 or less? Not more than that amount.
Ayo! Not kiamsiap lah bro. No money woh. Really really broke but want to drive UDM still. What to do? Already kena racun. But I reckon I can squeeze out RM1600 from my flexible friend.Originally posted by ALBundy@Mar 28 2005, 05:21 PM
well...
1)can get the dragons for less than RM500 anymore and
2) the MXV series do not come in 225/45/17 series. Its more like the original specs such as 225/16/55 (E39).
Anyway this kiamsiap bimmerman is looking below 400!

Below 400 how to get Japanese tires or even Korean ones...my dear friend.Cheapest is Silverstone lor...
Seriously I wont hesitate to recommend the Hankook Ventus K105 to you. I am using it on my rear, size 235/45/17, got it for 430 a piece and been on it for 3 months now. Tire wear looks not too bad and its quite silent as well. Comes with silica as well. Value for $$$!!
Front, I am using Michelin Preceda, size 225/45/17, about 470 a piece with alignment and balancing. I would say the Hankook is about as good as the Michelin, if not better. But Preceda 235/45/17 cost close to RM700/piece.
All I can say is, use something good and not mess around with cheap2 tires as it may cost you your dear life!![]()

I have had the GSD3 made in Deustche land before, db level starts going up as soon as tire wear reaches 50%, similarly for the Yoko ES100.

Basically after a while these tires will have an uneven surface and hence the extra db   It may also cause the steering to veer to one side as per what you mentioned. BUt the GSD3 is an awesome wet tyre!
wear rate for the ST115 may be a bit on the high side but it's grippy (soft compound, hence the higher wear rate)Originally posted by Donald@Mar 28 2005, 06:52 PM
Friend. I not sure you want to try Falken or not, I get Falken ST115 225/45/17 @ RM 420/pcs. So far so good. Silicon base tyre.
hmm..coiuld it be misalignment thats causing the bump-steering? when i changed from 15/205 to 16/225...bump-steering became very obvious...sometimes bordering on dangerous!!!. .alignment done, most of it went away..Originally posted by ALBundy@Mar 28 2005, 06:31 PM
