Are you reffering to PPS?

Here's something to think about: Teflon is a synthetic substance that can only be manipulated above 300degrees Celcius. Below that it is inert, or else everytime you use that non-stick pan, you would be consuming teflon.

Yeah man, I am referring to the PPS technology. I came across this product during the motorshow. I wonder whether this was the product that was used on the new Toyota Harrier with a hint of "wet" look. I would be very grateful if you could gave me the pros and cons of "teflon versus synthetic based wax".
 
Is PPS bird-bomb proof?

So its cheaper than Diamondbrite by Paintshield?

can we DIY it? or must send our car in?

I believe so bro. It is bird s**t proof provided you clean it within 48 hours, I think. For an E39 it is going to cost around RM800 and it is definitely cheaper than Diamonbrite and Paintshield. Both Diamonbrite and Paintshiel cost more than RM1000.
Yes, you can DIY and the kit costs around RM400. For best results, it is better to send the car in. The process is going to take approx 6 hours.
 
In Japan, this kind of paint sealant is already popular. No wax required later on. The price is around 55,000 Yen (RM1760). One of the popular brands is CPC Products Paint Sealant. PPC technology somehow rather still new in our country. I think I am going to give it a shot. If quite a number is interested, maybe we can try to negotiate for a better price.
 
Hi ! funfer_fahrer, my first car which had the pps teflon coating done about 15 months ago has undergone 2 times chemical cleaning (every 6 months to remove the dirts that could not be removed by normal washings) by the auto detailer who did the pps teflon coating and each time after the cleaning my car looks better than the showroom condition again. After 15 months it still has that wet wet look and shine which I could not see it previously with waxing. It seems that the pps teflon coating will enhance, protect and bring out the shine of the lacquer underneath and that was why it looks wet and shinier after the PPS teflon coating. The 6 month cleaning cost only RM74/- plus washing and cleaning the interior which works out to app. RM12/- a month which I think is reasonably cheap for maintenance and considering the good jobs and services they provided. I actually had my wife's car also done up with pps teflon coating recently. I would say that I am not only their satisfied and happy customer as during my several visits to them there were other customers who had also given very good comments about the pps teflon coating and their services. Take my words and go for it and let me know how do you like it after you have given your car the pps teflon coating.

Would there be any problems if you need to respray a treated car, say, after an accident?

Thanks for the info. This is the kind of feedback that I am looking for, real info from real people. I am going to send my car this Tuesday. The price they quoted was RM780 for E39. Well, at least you gave me extra confidence.

Trust a someone to come up w the worst case scenario.

If there was an accident, wax or polish would be the least of the problem... in'it?

This sounds interesting. Anything that gives my car that 'wet' look pricks my curiosity...
