this is what happens when u move from e36 m3 back to a 'normal' e46...
:D exactly..at first i thought well ok,i'm older now and a slower but more comfortable car wud do me good.. but :( found myself craving for more power.

Ho Casanova,

Would you care to given some data on your SC setup. Maybe some pics of the engine bay as well. I am sure other readers are curious about the AA tuning kits. It seems to be the best one out there. The Rotrex unit, is it ?.

I almost got the ESS Sc. After talking to them in the US, thk they are quite good too. Last the quoted me was about Usd 5500. i can get a discount from them

Just curious ...

Can the gearbox withstand the extra power ?
AFAIK, all gearbox has a max torque ratio. If u go beyond it, well ..

I believe there is one E39 523i running around with a supercharger.

right now i'm at about 230whp = 280+bhp

it uses the rotrex supercharger.

there's lots of posts about supercharging on e46fanatics.com in the Forced Induction section.

:p well my mouth is watering already..i've checked the 328i 5sp step unit can take 305bhp but forgot the torque figure..
i know there are a few types of SC but for the E46 i think there are 3 if i'm not mistaken.Rotrex,ASA and Vortech.all sounds good to me though ASA and Rotrex seemed to be the favoured these days.
what are the precautions and problems that i can expect/encounter if i bolt on one to my baby???

Kerata kena curi.... :D

Seriously,

You need to be ready for
1) High fuel consumption

2) Maintenance - Although SC does not require any periodic maintenance but the bearing may need to be changed due to the high rotor RPM (was told to be around 45000). Not sure whtether are all SC is the same or not because there are many types of "blow job". The thing is, the bearing is rather cheap but the labour is very expensive and there are not many people that can do it.

3) Wider wheel - May need to upgrade for more traction needed due to higher troque. Again depending on the type and boost psi.

4) Extra Fuel Injection??? - My fren added coz he said at high rpm, the fuel is insuficient.

5) .....

Thats all I can think of

5) Get a rising rate FPR, bigger cc injectors, and matching ecu/piggy

6) stronger clutch, torque converter, flywheel, shaft

7) 'better' brake setup

8) gauges (oil temp, egt, afr, etc)

9) 'colder' plugs

10) oil cooler, transmission cooler

11) countless dyno runs to optimize afr

12) more frequent oil change

13) min 98 octane (ron 97)

14) ....

:D thanx guys..good info.anyone want to add more please do so.
:yes!: at the moment i've already got a set of brembos so braking is settled.
:dunno: only thing i'm worried about is the step box.i've checked the ratings and its within but still..our climatic conditions are somwhat different from germany or the states so might hv to do something to cover that angle.
 not too worried bout fuel consumption cuz this is my second car.. i've got a kelisa(soon to be upgraded to myvi) for everyday balachi work.
:) i can get 255 section tires to replace the 225 i've got now,no hal..
 don't the SC kit come complete with ECU and injectors?? dunno, gotta chk the website again..
:) if i do the install then i'll surely use Vpower..highest octane rating right?
anything i left out??
