strange..

my mech don't recommend them .... :(

said something like....

it's too hard, crack often & do not conform to strict udm qc & standards..

NKTOB,

In my opinion, there are heavy duty bushes used for high performance cars. I used to see them being used in rally cars. Imagine the bumps and knocks that they go through. 9am till 6pm racing in an oil plantation estate. If they do not last, performance cars would not used it. No offence against you mechanic NKTOB, I guess if you were to change your bushing to heavy duty ones...it would mean that he will see yoou less for every bushing change. There goes the poor chap's portions of rice. Cracked bushings? All bushings will cracked eventually...even the original if they are not replaced immediately when due..Put it this way, they cost more...hence it last longer. Hahaha (lame). But honestly,$$$ is never wasted on mods like this. It helps with the endurance against replacing parts. :yahoo:

C U for TT tonight dude.

from wat i heard both use the same materials hence both shld b similar in terms of quality... i asked my mechanic but he told me no point wastin money on it.... ?????

the stuff is very good.. it just reduces the 'rubber breakdown' of the bush..

yah man.....

he said the same too!

and went along showing me the polyurethane bushes that his other client had previously used..and they changed back to standard original OEM BMW bushes...

got some info from hokomoto racing ppl on the superpro bushes..

common wear & tear (pricing on E46) :

front lower arm bush : RM480 for 2pcs
rear trailing arm bush : RM420 for 2pcs

(whole set approx RM2300++)
price exclude installation charges..

warranty : 1 month on manufacturers defect.

time required for installation : front : 1-2 hrs, rear approx 3hrs!

if we can get a group buy, we'll get discounts! :yahoo:

Guys...been using them for about 6 months or so now..its worth it...in actual fact the original bushes n all are actually the ones that dont really last long...but to be fair...the standard oem bushes provided by BMW should last for quite a while but due to our climate..horrendous road conditions...the way some of us drive...the potholes the our rides have to endure....honestly i know people who've had to change their new oem bushes just after 3 months..

Another point to ponder is that if ur ride is heavily modified...u will appreciate the PU bushes as they last longer...the bigger ur rims n the lower ur ride..the more stress the bushes are subjected to..so in short..if ur ride is stock and you do not whack ur car on the roads...the oem bushes will do just fine..on the other hand...if u do whack ur rides on the roads (which u shouldn't but malaysia all boleh it seems :D )..ride is lowered with big rims...do upgrade ur bushes...coz why...I experienced it myself :D it will last longer..worth it to me at least :D

Hope this answers some of ur questions :D

I changed mine to Superpro brand bushing.Trust me it is worth your while to use PU bushings and the pricing quoted are a bit steep from what NKTOB got from hokomoto.Got mine from GT motorcraft at about RM 700.00 for the front lower arm bush. For your info our factory manufacture PU but not for vehicle. The life span is about 3 times longer durability compare to rubber.True,it is slightly harder but then our road condition here is not pristine.

Know what u want boys....then only buy.

If u want performance - good upgrade.

If u want comfort - stick to standard rubber

there is no comfort AND performance unless u want to kid urself.

I m on superpro. have fun.

I also concur with Jules and Chubby. You can never have the best of both worlds. :yahoo:
