i tried the Shell Fuel Save and now on second fill as could not find my regular petrol...
so it is either me or the fuel was added with naftalena? is this the new ingredient to boost octane and mileage on the Fuel Save by Shell?

Do you feel any difference to your ride since you are now using lower octane?

i've just tried BHP97, and so far mileage seems to be slighty better. Usually use Caltex97. Shell and Caltex seemed to give about the same mileage.

one funny discovery...

today i was standing at the rear of my car while the engine is running and out of nowhere it smell like there are tonnes of moth balls (naftalena) around...but could not be the case as i try to locate where this smell comes from...since it was an open space i could not find any traces of moth balls at all...i then realise when i squat down to take something on the ground the smell got stronger...so i sniff sniff and wahlau...it was coming out from my exhausts...damn strong summore...

so it is either me or the fuel was added with naftalena? is this the new ingredient to boost octane and mileage on the Fuel Save by Shell?

so, how is the new fuel save from shell compared to your regular petrol?

After reading this thread, I tried out bhp95 for the past week. It's already my 2nd tank to date, engine power & smoothness is pretty much the same as Esso97, no difference at all. Unfortunately, I'm unable to compare fuel consumption with esso97 coz I got very lucky twice this past week in a car park so engine had to be left running la. Then again, I won't call that unfortunate la:D

I'd need to try out high speeds on the expressways before my final verdict:)

so, bhp95 about the same with esso97 for you....

over the weekend had a blast on the highway with my S mode & M mode..... redlined a few times.... quite happy with the bhp95 on the performance..... then i cheated.... filled up with VPower @2.25/ltr as the other station was petronas on the highway......

now trying bhp97 as bhp states that you can get 97 & 95 at all their stations......

on the consumption bit.... it seems i am still getting about the same mileage..... plus minus 10%

something that I found out today, there is a slight difference on power at mid range speeds. E.g. I was running at speeds about 100km/h++ on a climbing road towards Hartamas after the science centre & I tried applying pressure on the throttle without flooring it. bhp95 definitely feels weaker compared to esso97, I could feel the engine response instantly using esso97 but not this time when using bhp95.

You guys try n see la, but don't floor the pedal.. constant pressure should be enough:top:

I can feel my engine vibrating more if running on RON 95 .....
I just try 2 times...I Won't use RON95 ...Sxxxx
