There's this little magic pill sold at ENEOS that I was told after tambah into RON95, Avanza on RON95 can fly! effect very good. Boleh dipertimbangkan..

RM24 untuk 6 biji, 1 biji untuk 1 tank je la. Tak payah letak banyak. Viagra telan lebih tak sihat..

If have to choose between these two fuel, then definitely will go for Caltex. I rarely use it though. Most of the time its either Shell V Power or Petronas Primax.

Primax 97 hard to cum by nowadays....

After reading all the post in this thread i decided to give Caltex a try. First impression is very good, i notice it's more smoother on the engine compared to Shell97 and better throttle response. But am a long time BHP97 user and imo the throttle response is better on BHP lar but it's very close between the two. Overall i'm pleased with the results thus far :D Hopefully the techron additives will do it's job and clean my engine (after a few fill ups) as claim by Caltex :D

bhp has more PPM additives? better?

bro,
I know from many motorists that BHP is never top of their list of petrol but now there is something in BHP INFINITI that makes the difference. No harm trying and share the experience.

p/s: I have been all the while on Shell/Petronas and recently swithed to BHP RON95, the engine felt smoother and quieter. Psychological or what?
Will try out Caltex to see the difference!

Bro,

you are like me.... swithching camps now.... from Primax97...

I am trying the Infiniti & Techron.....

just hoping that those already there will share some light on their chosen camps....

i have also felt the smoother & better response of the Infinity as compared to the Petronas95, hopefully not just placebo effect...

That should be the case but Techron is a specific additives that marketed by Caltex as the additives that cleans the engine from the inside. BHP meanwhile just state that it has twice (800ppm) the amount of additives compared to other fuel ... Still BHP remains my number 1 choice :top:

Honestly bro better go for RON97 as opposed to RON95 as the difference is only like RM11-12 per tankful (55litres). You get better mileage and more power than using RON95 that gives out less power and poorer mileage.

had my 2nd tank full of bhp95 before the weekend. based on the foot consumption over the weekend naik bukit, outstation morning sprint etc.... it seems the infiniti2x gives me better performance than primax95. oh, btw. wifey said whatever the fuel, my car always go sprint laju one.... because of the kaki berat.... heheheh....

anyways, the bhp near to home has both 95 & 97.... so that makes my re-fueling easier....

feeling the mileage and power still there..... compared to primax...

Jerman,

any updates?

bro,
I'm into my second tank and I must admit that there are "something" in BHP RON 95 which makes the difference. The engine appeared to be smoother and quieter. Acceleration and consumption remained about the same as before (RON 97).

p/s: just in case you are wondering, I don't work for BHP

try both during balik raya last month..

JB to Ipoh = fueling up with caltex 95...
( JB-KL average speed = 180km/h)
( KL-IPOH average speed = 50km/h)

- smooth ~ 8/10 ( not so different with 97 )
- pickup ~ 8/10 ( a bit sluggish )
- mileage ~ 7/10 ( low than 97 )

Ipoh to Kangar = fueling up with BHP 95
(IPOH-kangar average speed 50km/h)

- smooth ~ 8/10 ( like no different with caltex 95 )
- pickup ~ 6/10 ( suck..i need frequently floor down and ask help from mr.VANOS to overtake )
- mileage ~ 8/10 ( dunno coz not speeding or what..but i realize with RM80@45 ltrs can go for +-550km )

for performance i will go for CALTEX 97..frequently tried with my e39..better umphh than PRIMAX 97..but if driving in hot day i will go for shell 97..engine more smooth..night..? PRIMAX 97 and CALTEX 97 is the best..V-POwer..? i feel no different with caltex 97..

just my 2 kupang..

can i say that you had a mixture of both in the tank instead of 2 separate test?
also 2 different stretch at 2 different speeds...

so how?

how about between caltex97 and bhp97?

fore sure it be mixtured..let say 95% pure on each tank..so that I'm also not really confident about mileage that i have on both fuel..but instead of smooth and pickup..i'm a bit sure about the difference..:top:

dunno others..but i'll go for caltex..top speed really smooth

i see your point. there are many out there who wouldn't mind paying the RM12 extra for 60 liters of VPower over the 97. for me, it is 95 for my lazy E34 and VPower for the more fuel-sensitive E46.

Waa you have guts to say 'Lazy E34'? Lu mau gaduh kaa.

Just kidding bro ... hahahaaaa.

if you want to test the difference of the various brands, u just pump loh... Actually, sometimes differen engines reacts differently to different petrols.. So if you really want a more accurate comparison, must use the same engine range. Otherwise, comments from various engines would not give u anything conclusive... Track the fuel consumption for at least 5 full tanks of the same petrol..

In my own opinion, most fuels are more or less the same in terms of fuel efficiency and drivability. Anyone wants to take a blind test? Take 3 similar cars, fill it up with petrol brand A,B,C or A,A,A, B,B,B or C,C,C.

I bet in scenario 4 (C,C,C) will be some that claim petrol brand C in Car 1 is better than Petrol brand C in Car 2!:top:

Every major brand has been touting its friction modifier (under various names) and cleaning agents.

Just an example, the latest fuel safe formula for Shell supposedly gives 50% improvement then the previous formula. How much savings? 1 liter for every 50 liters used, which happens to be about 2% savings. The driving style of the car owner itself plus the varying road conditions and weather, will more or less negate this 2% difference.

Bottom line to get better fuel mileage, change ur driving style. Some notable tips which I personally have found very useful....accelerate when going on a downhill stretch and ease off when going up, anticipate the traffic ahead and try to drive smooth with minimal braking and acceleration and upshift whenever possible (I keep it around 2.5 to 3k rpm) - lower RPM means better consumption.

i tried the Shell Fuel Save and now on second fill as could not find my regular petrol...

one funny discovery...

today i was standing at the rear of my car while the engine is running and out of nowhere it smell like there are tonnes of moth balls (naftalena) around...but could not be the case as i try to locate where this smell comes from...since it was an open space i could not find any traces of moth balls at all...i then realise when i squat down to take something on the ground the smell got stronger...so i sniff sniff and wahlau...it was coming out from my exhausts...damn strong summore...

so it is either me or the fuel was added with naftalena? is this the new ingredient to boost octane and mileage on the Fuel Save by Shell?

go test on cockroach n see la if its true:D

After reading this thread, I tried out bhp95 for the past week. It's already my 2nd tank to date, engine power & smoothness is pretty much the same as Esso97, no difference at all. Unfortunately, I'm unable to compare fuel consumption with esso97 coz I got very lucky twice this past week in a car park so engine had to be left running la. Then again, I won't call that unfortunate la:D

I'd need to try out high speeds on the expressways before my final verdict:)
