heard that the 325i intake manifold is bigger than the 328i from a forumer called DVNG .

maybe u can consult him about this.

indeed it is, each M50 chamber is almost twice the size of the M52.

Am looking around for a shop to do the swap if anyone knows, i'd be entirely grateful.

Buy a 2nd hand one and give it to your mechanic. Any good one should be able to fit it for you. They do however have to fabricate some brackets.

Good mod, and lets your car gain about 10-15bhp. Do it together with a Big Bore throttle body and some people say you gain about 20bhp.

Check out 36coupe.com for more details.

Aplina 527, is the guy on there who does a kit for this mod. Just plug and play.

With it i can out drag the e46 328 easily.

true, some people say you lose a little torque, about 5 lb/ft but i could not feel anything.

But just to be safe i got the headers to give a bit more pulling power.

Like i always say, no mod is without its pros and cons.

I dont think it does give 10-15more hp. I have it on my car.

Thanks for the tip.

Alpina527 quoted me gbp195, a bit on the high side though cos the used M50 manifold is only rm200.

Think i'll do my own plumbing.

with that mod can gain 20 bhp ar !!!!!....... :nyehehe:

ori 328 came with 193 hp + 20 hp = 213 hp :D :D

Big throttle cost abt rm400 + manifoldrm 200 + let say other rm300 = rm 900......

Seem to me is a damn good deal with that kind cost, you can gain so much.

I spent M3 cams + tuner chip cost total abt rm4K++.........

only total gain abt 220 hp.

This are results that people who have had done them to their cars in the UK claim that they are getting, on my auto i didn't feel like much.

And yes, getting it done here is a much better deal!
Wish i had known that before i bought his kit.

However with Alpina 527's BBTB, he does swap out the stock butterfly flap and put in one that is 3 mm bigger. Local guys here only bore the body and keep the same flap which is still restrictive.

the manifold is cheap but gettin it done here is not easy especiallly with all the tubings and brackets..thats why alpina527 maifold cost so much bcos its tried and tested and just plug and play. to diy is a nightmare..i've thought of it before but gave up after seing so much work is involved..gettin the fuel rail bracket done up is a nightmare..and thanks slide for the photos u email to me..did not help much..in fact if you have all the loose parts, tubes and brackets pictures, i can get it blueprinted and perhaps fabricate the whole set so that others may enjoy it..

The change isn't that much because most UK cars are manual, where the difference is more obviously felt on the throttle... also you don't feel much, if at all, of lower end loss

i have most of the mods done already, somewhat similar to yours but went down the dinan route, except the M50 manifold. the effing manifold.

Dinan also does a manifold swap and so do Alpina.
I've been searching on ebay for months for them but have given up.

The Alpina one looks very very good....

What Dinan parts do u have on your car Dinan328?

Dvng, Sorry they were not too much help, can let u take a look at my car, but that won't help much as some of the brackets cant be seen.

My 2cents, save up and get the new 330!

dinan tb, air intake, front strut bar, engine & fuel rail cover

the dinan manifold is actually the schrick manifold itself rebadged... never seen the alpina one though you have roused my curiousity

but i'm convinced the schrick manifold's chamber is still smaller the M50...

I think you'll like the Alpina one, it has aplina in raised letters on it.
Then you'll need to get the US cams. But be careful as the 325 cam has the same part numbers machined into it.

Sounds to me like you and i have to meet up and do a small drag race. But only after you put in the cams. :)

Cool dude. Will be good as i think my car is getting slower or it might be just me getting used to the increase and wanting more.
