now my car at workshop checking my car right now hopefully everthing ok...sad sad sad

I have seen many new BMW models stranded in flood waters in my area. I mean the latest models. I suspect there is weakness in the electronic system or sensor or something underneath the chassis that is sensitive to water and would stall the car when crossing water puddle or a pool of water. So guys, be more careful when driving in bad weather, avoid driving over water ponds.

Bro, did you cross water ponds? How did it happen?

like that heavy rain cannot drive bmw lah

Like I say earlier, there's some kind of problem with the latest models that seem to have a weakness with water. Check with your service advisor. I am sure they know about this. Keep us posted.

My F30's first bad experience with wet weather is the ECU going haywire but the car can still be driven. In your case, looks like the car just stalled. Please update here what is the problem as told by your SA.

I have gone thru arnd 1.5ft deep flood water in my f30 b4. No issues, but my dad and I were pretty tense as we were driving thru. It was probably a 50ft atretch of water. No water seepage thru the door sills etc. car still working like a gem (touch wood). I suspect these are isolated cases and may have other contributing factors. I think the key to driving thru floor water is to drive at a constant speed and not to take the foot off the throttle. My 2 cents.

You ar rite Jason drive at a constant speed ...since i hv tried with my car (Camry) deeper then 1.5ft somewhere in Kelantan last monsoon......the car is ok....untill now

The thing about constant speed is to prevent your car from changing gear. So, the key is don't allow your car to change gear cause there will be a brief moment of suction when your car's gear changes which will allow water to get into the engine through the exhaust tail.

i always practice drive with constant speed and manual mode gear shift...keep at 1st or 2nd gear, have same thought as quoted by The Tinkerer.

could be through air intake...[/QUOT

For water to get in through air intake, the flood water would have to be very deep.

Agreed... Similarly I drove through about 40 m of 1-1.5 ft of water at Kota kemuning some weeks back on manual 1 and 2 gear at slow constant speed. No problems.

Through the air intake less likely unless a lot of volume of water. Note that the air intake is used to taking water especially when it rains even though there is the filter to prevent the water from going in.

i think driving through 1 feet shouldnt be a problem.

1.5 feet, pretty sure, something will go wrong (whether now, or over a long period of time)

i saw a red F30 accelerating through a puddle when everyone moved away.
