Only when Euro4 diesel is available here and the BMW diesels have the Euro4 particulate filters fitted. Until then, they still spew more particulates into the atmosphere than petrols, and are therefore more polluting. Just ensure that the exhaust pipe points down to the ground so that it's not so obvious. But I bet even with Euro4 fuel, our buses and trucks will still belch sooty smoke in our faces.

Believe me ...go for the 320d...n u will never regret. The diesel clatter has been over exaggerated. i have driven both the 325 and 320d. inside noice is almost the same. just that 325 engine feels a little more smoother. but power wise i think 320d better. thats why i bought 320d. If you are worried what other people who are outside will say.... than i think u better ask their opinion lah....hahaha

Power? 218bhp vs 177bhp...hmmm.

Torquewise yes,the 320d is better,but powerwise the 325i rules.

320d FTW! if im not mistaken, the road tax for a green engine car is same as a petrol car.

Fuel is cheaper than petrol.

More torque than the 320i, hence better acceleration and more confidence in overtakin

FC is way more economical than the petrol version.

The rest is quite similar to the 320i version

So would you let this good baby down, just for the sound of a lorry?

well if you ask me, i'll just throw the additional 7k and and spend another rm2.50 for an ear plug, if the lorry sounds bothers you that much (while driving it with the windows down) ;)

A green engine? A diesel is considered green only because it's more efficient than a petrol. It produces more pollutants (soot, nitrous oxides, sulfur oxides) than a petrol. With Euro2 fuel and without particulate filters, it's clearly more polluting than a petrol. Diesel pollutants have been linked to urban health issues including lung cancer, and that's why they haven't caught on in the US in non-haulage use. Why do you think the exhaust tip points downwards?

not a very smart doc i guess .. snore!!!!!

Forbes article extract:
Aside from heavy-duty pickups, only about 3% of U.S. light-duty vehicles are powered by diesel today. Tougher emissions rules bumped several diesels, like the Jeep Liberty, off the road in recent years. And in some states, like California and New York, diesels aren't sold at all because the state emissions laws are even tougher. (One exception: Mercedes E320 Bluetec--a special version was recently made available in California.)

The Europeans have no choice, because of tax laws and high fuel costs.

My poisonous particulates is sent out especially for you....enjoy! We enjoy the massive torque...you get the poison....aiyo...sorry lah....but you deserve it, don't you, you foul-mouthed four-letter-words-expletives-spewing-mannerless 'person'.:thefinger:

by mean of green engine.. they meant;

why waste resources like fuel when u can get more miles with a litre of diesel than a litre of petrol.
Hate it or not, there will still be diesels as byproducts from crude oil distillation.
why store it in a steel drum, where it's potent to leak, and a liquefied diesel is much more hazardous compared to a burnt diesel, coming out from a car's exhaust. well that's from the environmental point of view.

But for the sake of this thread, we're just comparing 320i and 320d and not diesel cars in general, and i'll stop there

if u hv type r....then 320 can kalah. but 2.0 vs 325....the civic no sustainability...good push start..but later..it cannot chase up.

can ask etquah also..cos he has a 320 n civic...easier for u to compare..
