Thx bro stanleyckk for reply,

New 325i is out of my budget, so 320i is my best choice among E90.

How about the 323i.......It's actually the same engine variant as the 325i, only a detuned version and cheaper. A close buddy of mine just got his for less than RM255k.......do try out those different variants before buying.......just my 2 cents worth.

Happy Hunting

320d. U won't regret it.

Haha, Actually i had the same thought, just it's loud disel engine sound stop me from considering it:laugh::laugh:

Hey ryan88 :)

No mate, the BMW's deisel engines aren't loud. When at idle, it sounded like a diesel but not really that loud. But when you drive it, it's like a petrol engine. The fuel consumption of the 320d is also better but I think the road tax is a bit... expensive since it's a diesel. Go for a test drive mate... ;)

well, then you have a problem cos the 320i is under powered, go for the 320d. the power is amazing for a diesel engine and when you're in a bmw, you won't hear the engine. virtually soundproof. betcha don't have that in a honda

I've driven all three, the Honda Civic 2.0, the BMW 320i and the BMW 320d. I had the Civic for a few days as a loaner car, the 320i was on a long test drive and I bought the 320d a few months ago.

The Civic is surprisingly loud, NVH was disappointing, I could hear the engine noise clearly. It is very responsive however, similar to the 320i but the 320i obviously has much more mass to move. The 320d is soooo much quicker, the diesel clatter goes away the moment you close the door and it clearly feels very responsive and eager to go. However the M-Sport versions are firmer than what you get on the Civic which itself is relatively firm already compared to the rest of its class. You'll feel it in your butt :D

Go for a test drive first then decide.

If we can put a man on the moon.........anything is possible.......yes, to your answer.........just need additional moolah.......I am planning to do that after my warrantly expires.....

The E90 320i was all I could afford when I bought the car over a year ago. Was too chicken-sh1T to get a loan. If you are willing to bite the finance/hp bullet and stretch yourself a bit more, I would definitely suggest the 323i or 325i. What with having driven the 2-litre Civic, you might feel a great deal of lag in pick-up and sluggishness when coming out of corners when your revs are between 1500-1800rpm....this is in comparison with the 320i. But there is of course, no comparison in NVH and handling. And with the 323i and 325i, you get a lot more goodies...the latter already has the nice sport kit bundled. And they have that iDrive....which is very very nice.

I echo the other guys/gals on the forum by saying that it would be best if you tried them all.

Hi ryan88...the 320d is so quiet now. You can hardly hear it from the outside...inside its so ultra smooth and quiet. The new diesels are revolutionary indeed. If you bought a Ferrari, you would want to hear its roar right? So why buy a quiet-like-a-morgue and drive-like-a-dead-lifeless-hearse 320i:slug::slug::slug:? Come on life is short, you don't blow hard-earning 250K on a hearse. Pay 7K more and get the 320d!!:rock::rock:

Don't follow sunnypuan's mistake...now he regret so much...look at his post just last week.:slug::slug:

Was walking along a side street after lunch today, and heard a diesel clatter behind me. Moved aside, expecting a 4x4 to pass by. Surprise, it was a 320d. You're right to consider the sound, ryan88.

Thx for reply, but only show figure on paper. Might go for a test drive 1st.:burnout:

Went for test drives already? The Civic 2L is a great car...real sporty-nature with racer-boy lineage. And any car you want to change, you got to test drive it again..and again. Try asking the dealer to lend you a test car over the weekend. Only then you make your mind up...but I'll be suprised a Civic 2L driver like you would want to settle for the 320i....:frown: When the Euro 4 diesel fuel comes out next year or so...then you get even more pull (torque) and push(hp) from le excelente 320d!!
