What is Christmas

Though Christmas is normally celebrated on the 25th of December, strong evidence suggests that Jesus may have in fact been born in the spring. With the birth of Christ, Christianity essentially begins; thus, Christmas also celebrates the beginning of Christianity. wow goldSome of the images inexorably tied with Christmas are things like shepherds in the snow, and the fierce cold of a winter night when Jesus was born.

Replacing Suspension

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the E30 and just got a hold of one in pretty bad shape. When I brought it to a workshop I usually frequent, they told me I had to change a whole bunch of suspension equipment. I got a quote for the following (OEM German parts but not BMW)

1. Front & Back Absorber (4)
2. Back Absorber mounting
3. Front Absorber Cover
4. Front Absorber mounting
5. Front Absorber Link
6. Front Absorber Bush
7. Front Lower Arm
8. Front Lower Arm Bush
9. Front Tie rod (Left & Right) (2)
10. Steering Rack Cover
11. Anti Roll bar Bush

Amounting to a total of RM 3300.... Which is pretty much out of my budget. Any one knows where I could get a second advice in and around Kota Damansara. Any numbers I could call and ask about?

Thanks.

hi guys, after reading a few pages of the thread, i found front wheel bearing replacement is quite less...
so i really not sure how much is the bearing, anyone knows here?

Hi folks, thought I'd make myself useful and post up the past few bills from the mech. :)

Car is an '84 323 coupe.

--------------

First round : 28 August 09

Front brake hose 2 pcs : RM 128
Rear brake hose 2 ps : RM 120
Brake Oil 2 Litres : RM 56
Workmanship : Hoses, brake line bleeding : RM 160

... Never went back there again.. Especially after the mechanic quoted me RM 620 for a new brake master pump and 780 for servo. Seemed rather dubious after asking around other workshops.

-----------

Second round : 3rd September 09

.. Ended up trying out Foo's place.

Brake master pump (new) : RM 386
Petrol hoses : RM 25 worth
Hose clips : RM 52
Power Steering hose : RM 45
DOT4 Brake Fluid : RM37
More hose clips : RM40

Workmanship : Brake pump, bleeding brake lines etc : RM 60

----------

There's also the front caliper repair kits but I can't find that bill.. I think it was RM 96?

Next bill is a bit long so I'll enter it in another post. .. Feel free to shout out if I'm getting my pockets picked... I'm still rather new to this car :)

kheldar, i have found ah foo's prices to be fair, and i have yet to be disappointed by his quality of work. he looks after my 3 cars. also find him a very pleasant person ;)

- All the squeaking and crashing got to me... as well as the lack of power steering among other things... What else is there to do but make the mechanic a happy man? :)

mizhan : I haven't been with my e30 for long, but his prices do seem reasonable. Not that I've taken the car to many other mechs yet. But yep, pretty nice guy, fairly patient staff willing to bear a newbie's questions .. I also like the fact that he's got an e30 too. Or does he have two?
