to all sifus out there, (esp. bimmersideways and zoggee),i recently found alot of E30 which are all converted to SR20 for sale and they are goin off at very affordable price. i used to have my S13 for drifting fun but not sure how good E30 will get...any comments?handling, chasis durability..etc etc.not for serious drifitng though, just need a car that can do burn out to mat rempit in KL, donut in car park..... thanks.regards, tony

stick to JDM for drifting.

not gonna jump and hoohaa about E30...no doubt its a fun car.

bimmersideways...emmm quite good name also

Nothing beats a Japs car for drifting B)
btw, if insists on using E30, then its ok too, but if you are looking for E30 with Japs transplant, then please consider that as Japs

btw, nothing will stays intact in drifting, so no use asking durability

even my 180SX showing long cracks when i change tyre (I mean the wheel house area) and suspension tends to go kaput (HKS Hipermax II bought new also kaput after a year only

I'm no purist nor an expert.....i'm just a lover of the legendary e30.....to my opinion....to plunge a jap's engine to the e30... is totally unjust...it's a fun car... dun make it a funny car... :(

get a ke70 and transplant a 4aGZe in it......now that will be fun....it will kick most e30s out there.

....btw wheel bearing only rm35 guess how much is the e30???? ;)

E30 with SR20DET kicks arse.. I am a proud owner of 1. Mine just went dyno, doing around 312HP. I brought my car for RM 12K, its a 84 coupe model. Came with SR20DET already. Touch up and body kit+ dashboard+meters around 5K. Now the car is a monster. Very fun car compared to my other E30 standard BIG DIFFERENCE. Anyway i have both ORI BMW E30 and another Jap converted. Both also COOL!

Pls stick to the topic,

tony5050, here's my 2 cents. The e30 can be a fun drift machine when properly set-up. However, looking at the economies of scale, stick to the JDMs as parts are readily available.

With, e30s, the problem is to secure spare LSDs when the going gets tough! Otherwise, have fun and happy drifting! Do invite us when u do!

E30 not easy to drift smoothly....just my lack of experience maybe.

ANNOUNCEMENT

The committee has decided that the BMW Club Official TT will be Monthly TT starting Nov 2006.

Official TT would be held on every 2nd Friday of the month. So the next Official TT would be on 10 Nov. Stay tuned for more info.

You can organise your own gatherings if there is no official TT for that particular week, but we do hope that when there is an Official TT on that week your group will organise yourselves to attend the Club TT.

I do agreed with zoggee.... a JDM will be more fun than E30 no doubt myself own a E30 compare to my JDM but not KE70 with 4AGZE where i think 4AGE is enough for fun drifting.... maybe due to my insufficient knowledge in toyota :)

I agree with jules, the longer the wheelbase, the smoother the drift!

E34 M5 then???? :D

Drifting, stick to JDM. Body parts are much cheaper and easier to find due to the automotive policies in Japan. I am sure an E30 can be drifted, but please buy one E30 for drifting and another 5 E30 (per year) to scavage for body parts :p

Guys come out to Saturdat Night Drift at Plus Speedway Gokart Track USJ every Saturday 9pm to 2 am.

Last saturday i saw an E30 Widebody (Obermaeir....wat ever!) with TArbo engine( from supra i guess). Nice car. Does it belong to anyone here?

UltraSensitive,

Do they still allow drifting there now, since they recently resurfaced the entire track? it's a kart track afterall....

when ever there is a drift session please include me in... I'd like to learn from those D.K.s

yes the E30 does have a pretty short wheel base for drifting.
Hey Fabian, nice drift session... were you using pretty worn out tires for that?
