Bottom line, the main "improvements" are in comfort and feel. Ultimate grip in dry is somewhat similar but it gives the driver more feedback and feel through the steering now which enhances the driving pleasure. In day to day daily driving, the biggest difference between the PS3 over the PS2 is definitely in the comfort dept. When it rains and pours its supposed to be much improved, but I've yet to explore that so I'll leave it to the other BMWCM members with bigger kahunas running on the PS3's to report on that :).

Great review E46F! These are THE performance road tyres of the moment. I hope RFT PS3s will be available soon.

Mine is from Singapore used (~5k kms), ~Rm7k (incl crappy toyo tyres but trade with my stock 161's + RFTs) through someone in BMW SG who was leaving the country to study and was demodding the car for his mom to use. My only gripe is that I should have gone 19's with Face 1 in the front and Face 2 design in the rear. Much nicer looking, with the contrast in concavity of the rears vs. the fronts. For 18's Volk ME's, fitment for E90 are both Face 2 only. Face 1 offset doesn't go with the E90 in 18's.

But 18's more economical and less stressful to drive around lousy KL roads la :)

E46F, That's a good deal you gotten from SG ! And you're right 18" are the best size to drive around in KL. I ran over a metal debris in Puchong yesterday after my on wheel balancing at MPS ! @#*%$#

DY's 335 running 19" on KW coil over seems very comfy on KL roads too. But IMHO, my 17" is the best, no need to slow down at pot holes and humps.. :p my wife drives the car over everything! even car park lane divider, curb rash all over! :top: :D

..... then its high time you get your wife a X3 or X5 or even a X6.

In fact, when she heard CRV was launching a new design last month, she was so exited. She was disappointed when saw the ad in the news paper as the so called new design CRV was nothing much then a facelift.. and we can't even tell what was lifted!!

I was thinking to myself, phew! she almost sold my E90 and go for a CRV!

Very strange practice indeed. The best Michelins I ever had were made in France. They were so lasting I had to junk them because of age, not thread wear. :top:
Interesting. Same experience as my brother. The PS that came with his car (UK import) on 19" wheels were made in France and was replaced after 6 years iirc mainly due to age.

E46F, that is some sexy rubbers you got there ! Mated with Rays and Banana's, is a real joy viewing your car... By the way, how much you invested in those Rays wheels?? Kena racun by you AGAIN....haha
+1. looks stock yet so much better compared to stock and even modified ones! can't tell what is and what is not if not told. very very nice.

Yeah, mine was a CBU too. The 'Made in France' Michelins had worn down only half way before I junked them when close to 3 years old. Wohhh, 6 years is really pushing it!

After that experience, I became aware of the importance of the manufacturing origin of tyres.

After running on 19" especially PS2 with KW V2 coilover, it really changes my perception on 19". All these while I never believe in running 19" on KL roads but now with PS2 combo with KW V2, I'm getting the look and comfy too :) Once you have got the right tire pressure and coilover setting... it will be superb ride.

Emmm wonder how it feels on track. The ps2 is soft and wears out quickly on the outside especially the front tyres. But i like the grip its phenomenal. Hope the ps3 will last longer if not pocket koyak ooo...

That's where the adjustable camber plates come into play to increase the camber. Once the outer blocks wear out, the steering sharpness and cornering grip will subside with it.

Actually looking at the new thread patterns, the cornering ability may not be as good as the previous PS2. Generally the bigger the outer blocks (and hence the smaller drain channels), the better the cornering grip as it more stable plus bigger contact area. Perhaps Michelin has incorporated a better compound on the outer block compared to the PS2 :)

Was at a tire shop at Klang yesterday, he quoted me RM1000 for 275/40/19. Currently no size for my car yet. :(

Cheers

+1.

Had a set of french made original PS (not PS2) that I bought cheaply from Singapore. Tires + Rims were taken out immediately after owner took the car (E39) from PML to swap for bigger rims.

Lasted me for close to 2 years, that was the best pair of Michelins I ever had. :)

Cheers

AWESOME looking ME, they're no longer in production in Jpn last time i checked so better grab it fast fast.
Last yr e 19's if i were to order were close to 13k as YEN appreciated quite a bit already.
How much for the 20's in SG? Did they have 19's available in store and how much?

e60 didnt check the 19, i only like that black, and it only comes in 20inch sigh though i actually wanted a 19inch size. it was about 16k. Thank god there were no stock for the right tire sizes for that ME. phew. hahaha...
