Yeah, I always stop over at Bidor whenever I head up north for business for the wantan mee and ovenhot egg tarts and 'woo kok'....hahaha.....
Kampung Baru in KL have two famous nasi lemaks. 1) NL Antarabangsa. Located in the center of Kampung Baru (Jalan Raja Alang if memory serves me right), the rice is cooked using a wooden container steamed over boiling water. This makes the rice into individual pieces, and coupled with the extremely spicy (hot!!) sambal and condiments.... perfect combination. Their Teh O Ais Limau (Iced Lemon Tea) is special too as they use calamansi for flavor. 2) Opposite to the road entrance towards NL Antarabangsa, there is a small field. Nestled amongst the field is another NL place, which name eludes me. Here, the rice is served in small packets (i usually consume 2 or 3 packets depending on hunger status). Any additional foodstuff (ie fried eggs, chicken, sotongs) are served on plastic plates, so u have yr small packets of rice in one hand, and a plate of dishes on yr other. Interesting concept. Alternatively within the area, just behind Chow Kit, near the bomba station, there is another stall that sells packet nasi lemaks (like stall no 2 above). One other nasi lemak stall comes into mind. Bangsar. Just on the road side opposite the Italian Piccolo (donno if its still the same outlet now) and beside the indoor public carpark, there is this stall thats serves nasi lemak with fresh fried chicken. The specialty is the chicken, but I do not like the rice, which is cooked using the rice cooker and is too soft to my liking. However, the sambal and the chicken makes up for the soft rice. Slurppp.... this makes me hungry.... now where is my Nasi Lemak that i packed???
Can can.... with lotsa "extras" for u.... ok??? I ate a very nice road side Nasi Lemak for breakfast.... bought at Tmn Megah PJ, on the road towards Tmn Mayang, opposite the Childrens Home. Buys it at least once a week, like NL Antarabangsa for me... Also, Nasi Lemak at DU, near the post office, again by the road-side is oso nice. Slurppp.....
at 5201. hehehheheh.... i lups the nasi lemak at tanjung puteri in sri hartamas... retro ambience (60's music and candle-lit tables) with the most pedas and sedap dished ever! and quite reasonable prices too...
5201, u should also try the nasi lemak in Klang, near the train station a few doors away from OCBC Bank. But breakfast only.
