I really think they should introduce the "cut off" system like most american cars e.g where it will only go up to 90mph no matter how much u floor it....so buses too should only have a max of 80km/h...these brainless drivesr all they wana do is speed and reach the destination as fast as they could!

:listen: with all due respect bro ....speeds kill, no doubt abt it but definitly not the root cause of major accidents,.... even at

speechless ...the bus must be speeding ...but who to blame ..

all i have to say is that malaysian roads are freaking dangerous ....

I know this stretch fairly well.....so I dun think the road is to be blamed and overgeneralisation wun us get anywhere. In fact Malaysian roads.....are one of the better ones in the world ( not best ) and this is said with experience of driving on UK, European and Australian roads. ( & plenty more backseat driving in foreign places.. )

I do agree, what could have prevented the secondary crashes ( bus onto headon with others ) is the 2 line of amco barriers should have stopped the 1st bus from going into the opposite side.... I recall plenty planted scrubs on the median strip between the lanes but that can be easily mowed down by any vehicle.

Speeding could be one factor as there is a long uphill straight and a slight left bend just before this downhill part.....so he was probably carrying more speed to go up the hill. I dun know exactly where he went off but I do think its a straight section with a very slight downhill slope.

Mechanical failure? maybe. Driver error? likely too but let's not speculate until the investigations done.

I do strongly believe that all trucks & buses should be governed/restricted to a max speed and also not overloaded till extend they are crawling up a uphill section on the slow lane. Anyone familiar with Gua Tempurung stretch northbound and also the Taiping-Jelapang stretches southbound will know what i mean! Too slow a speed can kill too.

Guys - out of respect to the deceased, please do not put website links with graphic pictures of the dead. I think the families are already in enough trauma and such horrific images wun help heal anyone. Sorry, just my suggestion.

Drive safely, take care.

Very spooky........just saw on the evening news that another bad accident that involved a Merc........looking at the back ground might be paths from Genting or Karak...........this few days have seen some gruesome accidents.........Hell's Angels are on the prowl for victims..........just be alert out there.

I believe the authorities must penalise the bus companies / operators with stiff fines and withdrawal of their licenses. Only then these bus company / operators will implement a strict guidelines on hiring bus drives and ensure the drivers receives proper training plus a thorough background checks when hiring bus drivers.

My condolences to the victims family.

Sorry for the link. Its serve as reminder to us all. Mods can always delete if deem unpropriate. Some more many of us including me always drive fast. Just a reminder BMW has its limit oso as the bus. Nothing is immortal.
