Yes. A few of us got it running on non-SMG/normal steptronic E46s.

besides the steering wheel one also needs to have the wiring harness for it to work. and this alone isn't sold elsewhere but must be ordered off ebay sites. Around RM150-200ish.

Can't wait for my paddle shifters next month...lol

In total these are what you need for the retrofit to work:

1. SMG steering wheel with paddle shifts (eBay, $745)
2. Slip ring (eBay, $257)
3. Wiring harness (eBay, included as part of slip ring OR self-made like what aidilj have pointed out)
