Problem : Saggy glovebox, broken glovebox hingeSymptom : Unsightly asymmetric gap lines when glovebox door is closed, 'senget sebelah' look, door drops open with all the grace of descending buffalo poop instead of the graceful, controlled movement as originally engineered. Solution 1 : new box, cost is at least RM600++Solution 2 : no choice, potong box, cost slightly over RM200Subproblem 2.1 : glovebox key works only with original glovebox. Subsolution 2.1 : transplant only bottom part of box, combining the original top portion containing the lock with the bottom portion containing the door and functioning hinge.Subproblem 2.2 : After the partial transplant, discovered gap is actually caused by the top portion not being sufficiently straight. After much on-the-spot R&D, involving some custom precision-machining of the latch (pic), glovebox is now tighter than a financial auditor's crack, and floats down like a gently discarded La Senza silk slip...Many kudos to Desmond and his boys at KL Auto for their tireless efforts and creative problem-solving...

Now you know where to look for a tip-top E36  .... I would have just lived with the glovebox problem (my ex-36).... but for Lee, not good enough.... must do something about it. :yes!:
