The three-door version of the BMW 1 Series was also caught in spy photos. There are not many changes between the two versions, even at the aesthetic level. BMW 1 Series grows bigger and more powerful

It has been a growing trend that new cars are becoming bigger. As the photo below shows, the new F20 will be longer and taller. It will also be a bit wider on top of that — even wider than the E46 3 Series. So there is really a noticeable change in size. This photo by Autobilde shows the exterior design previously seen on the CS concept two years ago. The flares and shapes of the 1 Series has been removed to simplify the appearance and project a corporate look.



The three and five door hatchback models are expected to arrive late in 2011, while the coupe and convertible models will make its world premiere in 2012.

Engines will increase in power and sophistication too. Here’s a list of models and associated engine outputs:
