This is another poll conducted at www.e46owners.com which I would like to present here. Pleeeeeease choose only the TOP criteria. To further assist your evaluation, just imagine what you like your friends to say about your car, as follows:-1. Performance - "Wah! Your car damn fast man!!... but you missed the turning!" 2. Comfort - "Emm, I wanna move out of my bungalow and stay in your car, can ah?!!" 3. Cost - "Wah Liao! Your brake pads so cheap wan ah?! Mine costs twice the price and yours last so long even though I hardly use mine!!" 4. Economy - "Eh, how come your petrol needle neber move wan?!" 5. Technology / Equipment - "Fuiyoooh... got LCD screen ken download porn so fast wan ah?!!" 6. Looks - Gal says "I wanna @#$% U there, do %%#@ to you and make you ^%@$ me here, %@$# me there etc etc..." (use your imagination!) 7. Reliability - "Eh, how come you never sent your car to workshop before? No need to service meh?!" 8. Resale value - "Pleeeeease lah, sell your car to me, I pay you more than you bought it for!!!!" 9. Stature - "Eh, how come your boss fell flat on his knee and beg you for mercy?!" or "Wah!, How come the cops don't check your alcohol content but instead, they tabib and call you DYMMMM Maharaja?!!"

I voted for looks but as you grow older, with looks must also come performance. You have been there JPB, rite? 318i was just fine up to a point, after that......with great power comes great respectability :p hehe

OSF, that's a profoundly good observation.

BTW, please vote only the TOP criteria. Choose one. Comprendre?!

Handling should come under performance which should not be confined to engine output but overall abilities. Practicality hasn't been catered for cos it's too generic. Perhaps, it can be fit under equipment.

My top preference is always reliability. I always expect my car to be able to start the first time and go the distance. IMO, what good are performance and looks if the car always breakdown???? If the car breaks down, you are still going no where.

yeah... agree wif flash :yahoo:
what good is the car if half the time its in the workshop... :beaten:

The results here looks very similar to the one in www.e46owners.com with performance being the leading criteria followed by looks but for the poll here, comfort and reliability is also a material concern whereas it wasn't much of a big deal in the other forum. I'm begining to wonder if the participants in the poll here are more discerning, hehe!

Probably the fellas here are not as affluent as the other forum ma... dont hit me, but i am refering to my shallow pockets and thin paycheck.

Personally, i choose relaibility over any other choices, dont want yr ride to be constantly in workshop, manhandled by greasy smelly guys that smears the paintjob.

But honestly folks, LOOKS is the first criteria for any purchase. U must really have a hard-on for the looks, seeing yrself in the car parading around town first and foremost. Then yr buying senses comes into play, asking of price, performance, reliability, etc....

Notice during the Grand TT, not many requests for owners to pop their hood, but plenty of envious looks at the E46 coupes, BMW 2002s, E21, etc.

Also, one other factor, budget??

my car must have:
1) separate high n low beams, so, can use xenon
2) auto-dim rear view mirror
3) tire pressure monitoring system
4) no floating during straight line speed. i'm always slow during cornering..
5) automatic tranny
6) auto cruise
7) reverse sensor
8) rear curtain
9) v-kool
10) power windows for all 4 windows
11) normal aspiration engine
12) all leather seats
13) rain sensor wipers
14) 4 doors
15) max cc 2500. more than that, feel not worth it to pay road tax

to me, what is not important are:
1) brand image
2) color of the car
3) resale value
4) skirtings n all the wings.....
5) nice number plates...

that's why i chose e46 325 exclusive n sold my perdana v6. the only thing my perdana v6 didn't have compared to my current 325 was separate high n low beams.....

things to look for n if possible to put in my 325:
1) adaptive cruise control
2) adaptive headlights
3) night vision ( like the found in hummer)
