what is Msport

bro jarance, mine is matt black. Not the shinning type like the pix shown. Will that make a different? Or I just got conned by the previous owner who told me that this e46 is an MSport version? That's the disadvantages been a newbie in UDM community.

The window trim as shown in the pics by bro jarance is called "Shadowline trim" and yes it comes as standard in M-Sport package. Chrome or Matt black window trim is for normal E46.

The shadowline trim is a dead giveaway to identify an original M-Sport. Most "converted M-Sport" have either chrome or matt black
as mention by beemer. Owner can install many option to convert it to M-sport but always stop at the trim because it cost about 1.7K per side.

Regardless, the engine is the same for all version. So just enjoy your ride. The car will not go faster whether M-sport or Lifestyle.

Only difference is the handling is slightly better around corner but have to deal with the comfort due to stiffer spring and absorber.

Dun be depressed bro ... with a few interior and exterior mods you can make your ride as sporty as you want. The most important thing is to enjoy your car and make sure the maintenance of the car is not neglected.

original msport also have one air duct beside ur foglight which guided air to exit from behind ur disc brake.

No m-sport seats (semi bucket) means its not an M-sport. Dimmer mirror and auto light level doesnt have anything to do with m-sport version.

Sport / M Sport

The Sport (later M Sport) trim level included the options given on the ES and SE trim levels, but had additional performance-orientated items added. It came with the "M-tech" I or II bodykits (depending on when the car was ordered), half leather-half alcantara sports seats, sports suspension (comprising stiffer springs, dampers, and altered suspension geometry), gloss black external trim instead of the chrome trim of the SE, sports steering wheel and 17" lightweight style 68 alloy wheels.[23] The drivetrain of Sport / M-Sport models is identical to that of base / ES / SE variants.
