What is market price for E30?

I'm not sure, but my mechanic recently bought himself a 4 door E30 318i for 18.5k. He said it was a '92. Completely stock although he later noticed a couple of relays and stuff missing.

you should find another mechanic. a simple relays also he can't notice. That's for himself. what if for others.....

Interesting topic.

From what I've seen in some of the UDMs of sifus (e30) in this forum alone, the market price is so subjective as once you see the conditions of their rides and what they have done in terms of time and mulah spent to bring it up to tip top daily runner condition, it would still be hard to justify their market price even let's say at RM30K plus range IMHO.

I guess for rides like e30s it will depend on what has been done and how well the car has been kept, be it modded or original old school.

Haha I have no doubts in my mech's ability, but I guess he just wasn't too bothered to check the car fully or maybe the knew, but didn't mind.

bro, wanna ask what is the market price for a early e30 model?? the early 80's (84-89) model..??cos i saw some selling round RM11-15k which i think not that reasonable ... or issit i am in the wrong? cos my dad 1991 e30 second hand value is around 16-18k which has not much difference..thinkin of getting one for myself...

Yeah, price spread for e30 early-late isn't as much as you might expect, maybe because the 87 facelift was relatively minor. Secondhand prices for all cars in this country seem really keyed to facelifts, even more than whats usual. Which is funny because there actually were some important upgrades besides just the cosmetic ones for post-87, imho making late e30s a better bargain despite their higher price.

1. nick if your mech said its 1992, didn't the last batch of e30 stop production in 1991?

2.i think the price of an e30 should be based on how well maintained it is and what's in it..not just hentam a price based on depreciation and age.i believe in 'u get what u pay for'.

p/s even if someone offered me 30k for me e30 i wont sell!..15-18k..ptui..buang masa je

I bought 3 months back a E30 320 1984, imported to Msia 1994 for RM 13K, but I need to do all the rust...so, I have spend more than 10K now.

If you can get good price, just buy...check out the Motor Trade, and your preference.

mine bought at rm15k, it was a 1988 325i imported frm UK.

restorations etc cost me another rm15k.

was offered rm40k by opis fren for it but i turn the offer down.

Mine E30 bought at RM14k 3years ago,year last 1983,maybe 1st model,320i coupe,imported model,no sunroof..huhuhu..

Restoration cost around RM10k++

My friend want to sell his car for RM13k nego,4 door,320i,1984

I bought mine bout year plus for 20K 325i 4dr imported from UK 89 model with sunroof but da only need to do minimal maintenance.... pun already fork out 8K...

Luckily is still rust free... only need to repaint it saja... ok la.....

what year model of E30 is worth considering to buy? i m in search of one for myself but not wanting to suck into it immediately without enough know how. furthermore, i'm totally noob about cars. what more a particular brand like BMW.
any particular nitty gritty thing that i should look out for when differentiating two make.
