Hi All,Years ago in this very forum there were a few Alfa Romeo 156 drivers. we had always enjoyed the heated discussions on Alfa 156 vs BMW E46 325, FWD vs RWD and etc...What happened to them? still around? Upgraded to 159s? Ready to challenge the E90s? Muahahaha.

Muahahaha.

They have migrated to Penang, specifically the Hard Rock Hotel...........

Haha... last week's WTCC in Okayama was clearly a white wash by the 320si because it was a super wet race thru out. The FWD TDI Seat Leon couldn't come close as well as the Chevrolet. Those front heavy Seat were all understeer into the gravel and no match with the more balanced 320si.

Luckily no AWD A4 around which I think they will gain advantage with the wet track. Driver's championship for 2009 falls to the hands on Seat Leon with only one more race to go in Macau in 22nd November. Manufacturer's champion is currently lead by Seat and BMW is 3 points behind. Hopefully another wet race in Macau to call it a year for BMW... keeping my finger crossed..

The same question remain, we are all the Alfas?! Audi and Peugeot are both in Le Mans, Merc and Renault are in F1, mana Alfas?!

The Alfistas probably moved to GTIs and STIs, and some moved to E90 but changed name because shy... :) Nothing new from Alfa to boil the blood la. Only nice to jump into an Alfa when blood is boiling. Otherwise it's just a chore to keep them going.

AFAIK, AWD is not allowed in WTCC... the A4 AWD dominated the BTCC some time back, until the revised the regulation to exclude 4WD...
Anyway, the way the engine sit ahead of the front axle made it too front heavy to be competitive in FWD platform..

the alfa boys and worse still the old fiat coupe boys thought that they were driving ferraris.

Still around,we are all more mature and level headed now, with less keyboard warrior time to spend haha. Sat in Redd's Fiat Coupe turbo in Sepang and it was mighty quick. Dun play play.

the owners still around.....seating on their rusted heap? ITS JOKE! ( dun shoot me lar )

frankly - the Italians make great cars with characters. OSF's Alfasud engine howl when I went up the hill from the Kerichi Link highway into TTDI is still very fresh on my mind.....so Alfa drivers do command my respect for throwing caution into the wind ( & $$$ ) by buying such characterful cars!

Frankly speaking, there are more percentage of Alfa enthusiasts compared to BMW enthusiasts. BMW sells better here becos it's viewed as a status symbol... It oso doesn't help that the brand has been mismanaged by various distributors in the past, making it a subject of ridicule when it comes to resale value..

Ooooo Fiat! Brings back memories... Would love a 500 Arbath as a play car right now! :)

Come to think about it, all of you are now unkers also in some eyes! :) I remember that during my Fiat/Alfa days, we used to consider Bimmers as unker cars, unless they were 2002 Tii's.

Ok, ok, I should act my age and drive a Merc/Lexus/Jag now, or at least a 5 or 7. But......just can't do it! Hahaha :p

during my alfa days, we saw bimmers as P.i.M.P cars... especially the e36/46... true, it was very popular among them mid-late 90's..

now waiting for my alfa.. hehe

WTCC has more wider audience mah... WTCC is more towards production car racing. DTM only in Germany and that DTM cars use space frame chassis.

hmm... DTM..

So that's where the C-Class and A4 is.. Cool! Still where's Alfa.. :p

Why you keep wondering? Alfa exited WTCC long ago. Just like BMW and Toyota are exiting F1 now.

I think last season, or prior to it there was a privateer by the name of Jim Thompson driving a 156. Awesome driver, only if he had a better car:wink:
