Interestingly enough, the other mailing list I'm on (Wish Club Malaysia), 3 Wish owners recently bought Caldinas as their second car and a few more looks likely to jump into the bandwagon.

4 speed , when the Aitrek Turbo has 5, ages ago?! No doubt, the Caldina looks better though. They're everywhere nowadays. It'll be interesting to watch a battle between these 2 t/c'ed auto wagons. Saw the Ralliart Evo IX Wagon in a Jap mag recently. Quite awesome indeed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Caldina is the same as the U.S. market Matrix? It created quite a stir when it was lauched there 2-3 years back, with the same VVTL-i engine and 6-spd manual as the Celica. Of course, everything else dropped off the radar when the WRX, then the Evo was launched thereafter!
