Hi guys, I was driving my E46 318i for 5 years until i trade in for the E90 320i 2 months ago. Last weekend I went up north and was driving on the North South Highway and went through what I call a mild bump on the highway and my car went into a total shut down. I had to call BMW tow truck and towed it back to Sg Besi..... some guy over the emergency line told me the battery connection may be loose..... my God.... I have been driving for years and had gone through worse bumps on and off the highway and my previous E46 never gave up on me...I will be checking with them today to find out the fate of the car...... The issue is I cannot believe that a BMW cannot even take a slight bump ..... anyone had the same experience and what can I do to make sure that I do not pay for anything they may charge me?

Sorry to hear that Bro...Never had that experience on my E90 320SE, i did hit many pot holes.

youngdm,
Sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident! Are you sure it was due to loose battery connections? Did you try to re-connect or tighten the terminals?
Whatever it is.......good luck, bro

Sounds unlilkely. When you are driving, most if not all of the power is drawn from the alternator, meaning if the battery terminals came off you should still be able to drive.

All sort's of excuses from the SC thinking we just born yesterday.. just like the one I read in the other thread, 10sen coin found in engine compartment said to cause crunching sound during pickup.

hey guys..maybe we ALL should write to BMW Germany and ask them how cum so many issues with the E90s here in BolehLand???

if i collect all the complaints in this and other forums and compile them, it would fill up over a hundred pages la...

WTF??? can this club do anything ah?

its a new car....
can it be acceptable for its breakdown???

my NEW less than a month old E90 320i sports is now undergoing engine replacement. CKD unit.

After the shut down, I called BMW Service and I was told that I would not be able to do anything as they need to reset the electronic system.... today I tried calling them (Sg Besi service centre) but nobody calls me back... they still figure what to do???

Also, I am very disppointed with BMW, after the incident on the same day as I need to go up north desperately, I borrowed a 5 year old E46 318i with mileage of only 60K+...... when I reach BIDOR, the car broke down..... over heating.....

Sorry guys, I love the UDM but I am too disappointed..... I spend the whole of Saturday towing two BMWs back to KL......

what kinda sh*t to happen to u man. i feel for u bro. TAKE THIS TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF BMW MALAYSIA. no point talking to the service center. they dont do anything urgently unless u make noise to BMW MALAYSIA. since this morning i still couldnt get thru to AB glenmarie. all calls go to "leave message". F*ck them!!!

Wah... we surely do have 2 very unhappy owners in the house today....

Hope you guys manage to resolve your issues today...

yes. and its a Monday too. if these clowns at the local SC keep on doing this, the brand is gonna go down the drain pretty soon.

sorry to hear ur bad experience..

btw,not just 2 unhappy customers, there are plenty out there complaining especially E90.

hope u get ur car fixed soon...

cheers

Part and parcel of UDM ownership. That's why most people prefer JDMs ;)

its not part and parcel of udm ownership. it only happens when its not handled properly by the local dealerships.

I wonder if the bad service I keep hearing on AB is due to most of their more experienced staff moving to Sapura or Ingress cos at least I hear better stories about the latter. Ingress just held an E90 car clinic recently and from feedback, they seem to know enough about the E90. As I understand it correctly, even if you buy your car from AB, you can still send it to Sapura or Ingress for repairs or warranty issues.

Why, what did the local dealership do wrong here? The guy on the emergency line is just making a guess over the phone. Nobody will know the reason until the car has been checked.

Agree, JPB. I have personal experience of much better answers and service at Ingress. Practically all their people were the cream of AB.

I'm actually in the midst of working something out so that complaints can be better handled and at the right level. However, this avenue will only be available to official members via a relevant section in the Exclusive Lounge.

Both of you are correct with the statement....
MOST of the experienced staff had moved on from AB to Sapura & Ingress.

I am very pleased with Ingress.....they resolved ALL my issues, be it warranty or maintenance issues.......:top::top::top:

Maybe you guys should proceed to Ingress....
