Hi Guys,May i know what's the top speed that you've tried on your e60? i haven't tried the top speed yet. fastest was 190km/h but i've seen in youtube some ppl went to 260km/hcheers

260!!?!?!?! Fuyo!!! I've only tried 220++ Below 230...... was chasing another bimmer... hehe.....

N52B25 in the E60 gives the car 242kph max, both on paper and from actual experience from few. All stock BMW including the //M are all intercepted electronically at 250kph land speed measured by GPS.. not speedometer speed. Speedo will show 260 if not wrong. Those who can do more confirm did something to the ECU.

I tried my stock 530i with sport button on and S mode gear. It achieved 230 km/h just in instants. 230 km/h is too fast for me. More than that is unbearable and I think it was limited up to 250 km/h.

Cruised?!?!?

ermmm.... yeah..... ermm... maintaining the speed at about 180-200km/h on the highway.... it doesn't feel fast/dangerous on a relatively empty highway....

:smokin: M57 in E60 gives the car 250km/h max both on paper and from actual driving experience :biggrin:Its true that the performance is intercepted at 250kph both speedometer and GPS but if you set your setting at max 260kph, standard stock of M57 engine can take you there  ....
However if you set at 250kph, it is still possible to reached 260kph (with a downhill drag) but be prepared to "total" some of the electronically controlled parts (especially the swirl-flap of the air intake manifold)) of the engine :burnout:.

Thats the diesel powered engine :rock:

you guys are speed demon. it's scary to drive at that speed. even the airbags might not be able to save lives. i might try top speed once i've changed my tyres

Yup agreed. Fastest I did on my 530 was 220km/h. But I too often cruised at around 180-200km/h. When you accelerate from standstill all the way to say, "just" 160km/h, then it feels fast. But if you gradually go from 110, 120, 130... then eventually you hit 180-200 and it doesn't feel fast. So yes, the term "cruise" does indeed feel that way in this scenario.

210km/h on the GPS.. too fast for me.. unlike the E39, the E60 feels too jumpy for me beyond 200km/h. For the record, I've done 230km/h on the E39, measured on the GPS also

WoW !!! Power of Bimmer haha

:smokin: brag aside guys ...yes its fun to once in awhile be a speed demon but on a serious note, anything above 200kph, best and safe (for everyone) to do it at the track ...:burnout:

i only managed to get 235kmh on my previous e60 with N52B25...thats gps speed and meter is showing 245kmh...it was max already for my car...
