Just wanna say -
e90 rear has not enough umphhh like its other bros from
5&7 series..
-( is it like waja or vios??) :dunno:
Yup! I was thinking about the same thing. E60 however,is a different kettle of fish..... :)

Perhaps... for me ... i don't wanna be a "Sour Grape" ... If i have the extra cash to throw... I will get all 3 Series generations... Doesn't matter how it looks... :p

If you ask me to swap my E46 325i for an E90 325i.. I'd do it in a heartbeat..... Would u? :p

I think they could have done better with the E90. But knowing BMW, they always have a facelift that will do it when the car faces mid-life crisis. Take the butt-ugly new 7 series for instance. The facelift did just the trick.

But back to the E90 I really don't know how much they can do with the rear without sheetmetal changes. Somebody mentioned that the rear looked like the Waja and I think not really but both Waja and E90 did lose the plot in a way that the rear only looks right when viewed from certain angles. It just don't gel! This to me is a flaw major enough to affect the rest of the car. I surely don't want a car that looks right at certain angles only.

No doubt the E90 is better built then the 'Japanese car feel' E46 and definately a better drive too but otherwise offers no incentive to trade in a E46 for a E90. I'd take the E46 anyday for it's timeless beauty and well synergised design.

Let's see what the E90 will look like after it's mid life facelift. My guess is that it won't be pretty.

No need to think man... apa lagi...!!! :D

BTW, heard theres something wrong with the signal panel controlling unit.. in fact, there were numbers of E90s needed to be change (luckyyyy under warranty).. unlike E36/46 can change seperately..set by set... but this 1.. Aiyooo whole thing DUDE... if kena own wallet~ RM3k-4k..

The thing about Bangle designs is that it needs time to grow on you... The 7 series is one good example. Even pre-facelift it was repulsive when it first launched, but now I think it completely outshines the previous generation 7 series when parked next to each other. In fact the S class looks bland next to it as well for some reason and the S was sleek and "sporty" compared to the older box like design.

When E90's begin to flood the market, the E46 will look very very bland IMHO.

bangle design is all about lines and how they should meet without disrupting the flow of the curvature..and seamlessly merges with the corners..thats how new design are evolved nowadays..you have to really observed the detailing in the design that chris does to his cars..in general people get excited about design which are clustered or busy in the detailing..take a good look at the subaru for example..horrible the detailing is too busy...i like the bangle design and the way he play with the bonnet and rear boot lines..perfect lines...just my two cents worth..

What i don't really like about the newer models is that the dashboards aren't driver friendly anymore. They're just straight!

wahhhhhhhhhh, i think we better cut the rear light of E46 and replace in E90 ourself, more ganassssssss

i used to think E90 is not-so-good looking, after browsing E90post.com for more than a months, i'm sold! worldwide sales figure for the E90 is growing daily...my perception on its 'looks' have gradually changed.
like many others in the US, the E90 is growing on me day by day... ;)

if i had the money,i'd buy the E90 tomorrow!!!!! love the way the car looks in the flesh.despite all the harsh criticisms,i think it'll age better than all its perceived rivals..we'll just wait and see.

if only i had the money.. :(

I think the mass market will still continue to buy the 3 series irregardless of how nice or ugly it is, simply because it has become a status symbol. It is a young man's mercedes, those who want a certain class but do not want to be associated with 'apeks' or chinamans mercedes.

That aside I find the e90 very bland and safe design compared to the e46 and seems to be a corrective effort by BMW to address the mixed reaction to the 5 and 7 series. If not for the familiar BMW front kidney grill and headlamps, one can even mistake it to be a Toyota Vios or a Korean car in terms of design. One of my friend in the US commented that it looks like a Toyota Corolla due to the small and narrow look, in the end he bought an Audi Quattro and a VW Golf for his wife.

for my personal point of view, i m rili disagreee with the statement that E90 is the ugliest car !! although the rear design rili rili suck ... but she still got plenty of nice partsss...

mayb we can say E90 is not that suit for the name of " Sport Sedan " ... or we call it as " Mini Luxury " ...

anyhow , i believes the Sales of 3 series will not affected too much due to marketing & branding strategies of BMW ....

Wait for 1-3 more years to come..it will come out with E90 new facelift model...E90 Mk II...tht will be more "cun" than the current one.. :D ...if Merc going to launch new C-class in 2006 or 2007, E90 will most likely comeout with new facelift...to stop the new C class onslaught.... :D
