Can you help describe the problem you faced with "rough gear" in more detail? What are the symptoms and how come it was diagnosed as a faulty engine at the end?

there was a jerky sensation, slight loss of power in the lower rpms, engine died once. loud tapping noise when i was with service personnel in AB glen. finally they found that pin in connecting rod was loose. THIS IS WHAT THEY TELL ME. whether its correct or not i dont know. All i want now is to have a new replacement for my car. i am not interested to know what is the problem with the car anymore.

Sad to hear about this. If anything you should be really enjoying your new purchase instead of enduring such inconvienience and trouble. Hope its all resolved fast for you.

sounds like the same problem that was faced by a fellow mate a few years ago ... the story sounds the same ...

had a minor oil leak ---towed the car from bentong without driving

received a call which states OK pls come and pick your car up ... and later in the evening
another call stating that they found some problem and need to re-cehck again

till after that 3 days pass by and finally when the owner turn up at S.C ... the Auto trans
was taken out already ...

so the story start from there and the repair bill to replace a new tranny was RM21,650 ...

took out in the paper and by some negotiation and so on ... by some fellow buddie ..they manage to slash half of the price ..

Heard that car was immediately traded in for a 5 er .... if am not mistaken ....

it was an e46 325i ...

bimmerdude ....feel for you bro ...

there's a big difference iceman. THIS CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY. less than 3 weeks old and less than 1500km driven!

Feel for you....

Hope it will be resolved very soon....

Cheers bro,

ask a lawyer to represent you with a letter of demand & cc a complaint letter to BMW hq as well as all the local publications. Don't show any face. Sometimes companies need a rude awakening to improve their services.

I feel for you bro....I would be pissed too given your situation. Demand for a refund and get an Audi A4 (B8) instead.

Bro, u need to escalate this serious matter to a much higher level. Be on top of it and make sure u get to a satisfactory solution.

i have complained to BMW AG which is currently looking into this case. If i still find it unsatisfactoy, i will as a last resort use my lawyer and the media contacts that i have.

You surely has done the right thing & on the right track.....
Looks like things are MOVING, BMW AG will definitely taking this case very seriously indeed.

its hard to keep u updated because i am spending my precious hours trying to get thru the automated answering system in AB glenmarie. what do u do when IF u get thru to the receptionist, then thru to the EXT, which is not picked up? this goes on and on and on and on and on and on...

If I were you, I would demand a single point of contact either from AB or BMW Malaysia on this matter. I would not try to call AB Glenmarie's stupid general line. I have to try numerous times just to get a service appointment. Then when you made an appointment, the tone they use is as if they are doing me a favour. Good luck with your case and hopefully it is resolved to your satisfaction.

bros, further to what peanut said. ie. to demand for single point of contact. really don't think you should demand but rather any professional company would get someone to contact you in handling customer complaints and do some damage control before it blows and goes out of control. this matter warrants urgent damage control due to the seriousness.

any company that does not take this matter seriously is surely not geared to handling todays customer demands and expectation...

Actually, all car manufacturers seem to suffer from having 'lemon cars'. Problem is how our local dealers/distributors attend to such problem cars... I do know the guys from Club Audi Malaysia and they also have their gripes against the dealer/distributor..

Proton.

when i booked my 1.8 dohc in 2000, i was supposed to collect the car in PDI shah Alam, to my horror, found my so called car engine, abs and gearbox all striped and on the floor..

reason, the abs was giving problem, so they had to check it. got my car two weeks later.. till the day i sold the car, no major problems..

sometimes, good things come later, better have the problem now than later..

my 2 cents.
