that's the whole point of posting in this public forum...they should be smart enough to reach this thread and improve from there, afterall they are one of our nation's largest telecom/IT company. try to google 'streamyx' and you will find 2 things...the links advertised by tmnet & the rest are all complaints...

aint gonna waste my time with their hopeless helpline

dun think they read this forum oso lar...

just like any company, complaints must be registered. How do you know if the complaint is genuine? That complaint could be coming from a competitor, for example. Once it is logged in the customer service system, the case is opened for them to investigate. This is where their KPIs are measured. No different than any other company.

I am not siding any company, but I feel that we have yet to reach the level where people go to the right channels and solve problems. Similar to coffee shop talk, everyone talks about how they can fix this country, but when we ask them to suggest properly or even stand up for election, they keep quiet.

anyway, do as you please. I hope your problem gets solved soon. :)

Unfortunately, we're not significant enough in their books to garner any attention from them.

However there has been rumour that some Streamyx Technicians do surf lowyat.net forums.

I think I've been to enough forums to know that no matter how developed society is, people will always whine and whine and complain and complain.

Have you ever been to www.whirlpool.net.au? It's a broadband discussion forum for all the ISPs based in Australia. If you think this 1 little thread here whining about Streamyx is bad, wait till you check out whirlpool. Just so that you know, customer service in Australia is so much better compared to the ones we have here. And still people whine...

Has it ever occured to you that ess530i has exhausted all means necessary to have his internet fixed hence the reason why he's venting his frustration in the forums? This is the 2nd time you've come on to a thread about Streamyx and pissed on it with your "Report to the right channels" crap. Please do not automatically assume that people are dumb and don't know how to "go to the right channels".

Also, you do realise that perhaps 90% of the users that browse this forum (I'm assuming) uses Streamyx. So where else better than here to have people acknowledge your problem(s) and perhaps share with you their experience as well.

If people want to vent, just leave them be.

Well if internet is your bread and butter then may i suggest you get a fixed IP address it's a bit more expensive but more faster and reliable :D plus you get a priority one sevice :top: :D

I can't even connect to speedtest.net with a direct connection on Streamyx.

With my proxy i get max speed though.

Seriously, I use Jaring 1511 dial-up for my online game, which is a lot faster than both my 1M corporate fixed IP Streamyx and my Streamyx Combo 384Kbps at home... really hopeless.. !

Jaring still rocks when connection to Europe or US server is concerned.

Complaint many times to 1-300-88-9515, they just get a 3rd party technician to drop by, replace with a modem and run a test to their local internet nodes... connection to local website is silky smooth but Europe or US, habis!! They say not in their control..

What can I say?

HAHA sorry to hear that man. I don't think a 56.6k dial-up can support World of Warcraft for me. Having a private server is probably one of the best things I've ever decided to do.

I know TimeNet is pretty good as well 'cept the only drawback is their coverage is very very limited. Maybe that's one of the reasons why they are good with US/EU routes since less users.

TMNet has horrible routing to the US/EU. Do a traceroute and you'll see why. Over 30+ hops just to get to a server in the US.

The game I played is very straight forward. All I need is screen reload/refresh so I can submit my attack/heal request, and another screen refresh to see the result, during which, others might be attacking u.

With Jaring 56k dial-up, I can spent up to RM150/month on dial-up cost but lately converted to Streamyx Combo 384k to save cost but now realise is useless, except access local website like this forum, now u all know why I spend a lot more time in the forum then I used to be 1-2 months ago..

I used to attack opponents 4 times/min but now is 1 time/min, some time worst, after shower, screen still not refreshed.. :( My opponents are healing faster than I can attack, I use to attack multiple opponents at the same time but now.. went to peace mode and cakap batang here even more fun, less stressful..

haha astroboy...funny la u. u shud talk to my lil bro.he's a online gamer. fanatic abt online games.
he gets to play all his online games without any complaints, maybe u shud ask him what he did with the configuration..hmmm... :p

i've been skimming this thread to see whether theres some conclusion .. is there? who would be best ISP provider? and which would be best value package ? for hme use and keen user of UTORRENT.
Bro loafer, you say you set up private server - but wouldn't you still be limited by ISP provider bandwidth ?
I'm no techieso please xcuse my ignorance.

Yes my speed is still limited by Streamyx at 1.5mbps. Basically what I'm doing is routing all my traffic through the private server. Since datacenters have more reliable routing locally and internationally, I don't get problems like slow international surfing like most people do on Streamyx even on a normal day.

By doing so I bypass all TMNet's restrictions as well. ie. no bandwidth throttling on torrent ports etc...

To find out more about what a proxy is, see this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy_server).

yay! finally!
