Off hand my guess for the best would be T.Camry.

You don't buy European cars for market value, good maintainence cost or less problems :D

Agreed agreed. :D

U want good stuff u gotta pay for it. Quality things do not come cheap. Its expensive for a reason. Why does a Wira cost so much lesser than an S-Class.? Go do the math.

value for money - definitely Camry. Simply compare the annual depreciation of a Toyota with either Volvo or BMW.

lower maintenance and less problems - definitely Japanese makes, those guys are well known for reliability.

but deep down in your heart you're seriuosly considering a UDM, right?... otherwise why come to a BMW forum and ask... so, follow your heart, not your mind, you won't regret it.:D

for what you looking for is a toyota camry. Other's model will dry up your pocket before your pay salary if you working. Hehe ...

its a car not a house, u bound to face depreciation the moment u drive it out of the sales garage.. go get a bimmer, u know u want one.

Spend some time to looking a good e39, u never regret. New camry only a feeling, after few years u drive then it become used car also. UDM is the best, expecially e39..!!

i also agree, go for camry, brand new car i think if u do all the necessary preventive maintenance, 3-5 years it wont give u much problem. n i believe toyota is very reliable with good second hand value

I will go for E39..,

For your case, I think you are looking for big car, so consider either E39 or Camry.

it takes passion. people who buy a bmw based on their passion, do not mind the extra T.L.C. to keep their cars in good running condition. its all part of the ownership experience(and there are more).

On a less serious note...I mean, who wants a car that is so reliable, you never end up in a workshop? What would saturday be like if you can't go to your regular bimmer specialist to do some work on your car, and to borak with your fellow enthusiast there?? :)

hi bmw7833,
yes, u r same ideal like me those Japanese car cannot maintain longer for the look.. I suppose to prefer continental car those maintain longer look... but recently i am very scared the BMW 3-series going fast like Japanese car.. For Example E46 we havent get boredom now came to the E90.. So, where have the story again....?

Others,
So, should I consider UNregister recond for E46, E39 or 2ndhand Registered?

since this is a bmw forum, i'm pretty sure most people here will ask you to buy the BMW.. i think what you should be doing is, only ask about the BMWs you're interested in, and people will share their ownership experience based on that..

on the volvo, and toyota, its better off asking people who own those cars.. as most of our views here will be biased..

get all that info you have, and based on your own emotions balanced with practical needs and then go make your decision.

as for me, among all your choices there, i will still say, go BMW, as it's the only true focused driver's car. Front engined, rear wheel drive, a range of great engines, enough said.. none of the other cars there can compare at all. and if you really want it, you can get the snob appeal as well (bmw badge).

and btw, you cant compare the E46 with the E39. the E39 is the big brother, a 5 series, larger in every way. its like comparing a corolla and the camry. same goes the S60 and S40.

I have to agree with 1+2=3. Personally I prefer BMW as it is a car for people who love their ride.

If you a busy business executive, please go for T. Camry as it is a car with less worry to you so you can focus on your business.

But if raputation thru your ride for your business, E39 always command respect at 5 Star Hotels, Golf Clubs, Convention Centres.

Volvo is a good car too, do find time visit the volvo club. They have lots of interesting stories to share.

I am a AUDI A4 Owner and now I am looking for BMW and if I fail to do so.. Volvo S40T is my next choice.
